Okay so it might be a little early for this, but I am pretty excited for the upcoming season. These are just some thoughts and well don't feel bad or get excited if I left you off the list...... yet.

Preseason Rankings

1. Wayzata - Have been real good last two years, will they all stay?
2. Apple Valley - Good talent, is it going to HS
3. East - Always strong, this may be thier year.
4. Edina - We know what they will be next year, but this year is good too
5. Grand Rapids - Top Peewee team last year and a good Bantam team
6. Eagan - if he who shall not be named sticks around
7. St. Cloud - If there are no defectors to HS this should be a good team
8. Maple Grove/ Osseo - the combo platter should help them get out of regions
9. Centennial - Have to be in the top 10 with 4 straight title game apperances
10. Roseau - Always hard to beat
11. East Grand -
12. WBL - good defense wins championships...or at least gets you to state
13. EP - Down... but not out incoming PeeWees are good
14. Rochester - The best in the south, maybe
15. Elk River - Will be back to form this year
16. Woodbury - good Peewees may make for good bantams
17. Moorhead - have not shown as well with soft schedule
18. Coon Rapids - young team on the rise
19. Hopkins - some raw talent - no direction
20. Bemidji - just so the boys up north don't complain

Good Luck to everyone this year, I'll be watching.

Bantam A Level 2008-2009

That is a very good list Chuck Norris Fan. You just might be able to keep the Lumberjacks of Bemidji in the top 20 hunt as they should be pretty formidable in 2008-2009 despite losing 40 goals in Luke Erickson (back to Roseau). Those numbers will set any team back a bit. This field of teams made for fairly wide open race as Pee Wee A's (2 years ago) which should make for a fun winter season for all. Honorable mention from the north would go to the Hermantown Hawks as they have a good corp of Bantams. Thanks Chuck Norris Fan for putting together such a nice list of teams...will be fun to watch in 2008-2009.

With all due respect... and I mean that, if they are anything like the team last year they may not fit the top 20 mold. I saw them chewed up by East several times last year, and Centennial destroyed them when it really counted. But I have been wrong before, I could be wrong again.

nice list chuck but didn't lakeville south and north both have good teams in this group as peewees? South went 2-1 at state and looks likely to have the entire group coming back.

Well let's see - CNF has Wayzata ranked #1 so if a couple Wayzata kids decide to move to a private school, chances are that might hurt the team's chances this year, and therefore, maybe it is a bit premature to rate them #1. Of course if they were going to move, wouldn't they have already done it?

Looks like 3-4 eligible players for Wayzata's bantam A program will be gone by the time high school teams are picked. A few of these players did not even tryout this year for Wayzata Bantam As this year.

Wouldn't it be more useful if this chat was populated with comments AFTER the teams are chosen? where are the various top associations at in their selection process?

Skatehardordie,
The associations should be waiting until the Fall Sports are
done(Football, Soccer, Cross-country, etc.) before thinking
about tryouts....MY OPINION !!!!

1. Maple Grove - Good returning players from last years bantam teams and the Minnesota fire.
2. Apple Valley - Only if their best players stay.
3. Duluth East - Always have been good and I think they will stay like that.
4. Edina - They will be a smaller team but they will move the puck well and have good skill.
5. Centennial - Pretty good returning group.
6. St. Cloud - Pretty good goal tending and a pretty solid team to back that up.
7. White Bear Lake - Always finds a way to win and get to the top of tournaments.
8. Wayzata - If they don't lose to many players they should still be good.
9. Moorhead - Just off of last years ranking and the years before.
10. Rochester - Good goal tending and have a couple good players that should contribute to the teams success.
11. Roseau - Just off of lasts years rankings and the years previous
12. Bemidji - Just off of lasts years rankings and the years previous
13. Woodbury - Going to have to depend on some key players to play good and contribute.
14. Minnetonka - Going to be a pretty good team.
15. Hermantown - Just off of lasts years rankings and the years previous
16. Eagan - Will lose a couple kids to j.v. and varsity but still will have a good team.
17. Duluth Lakers - Just off of lasts years rankings and the years previous
17. Rogers - Good group from last year and pewee's, and if they continue to play physical they will still win.
17. Lakeville South - A couple good skilled kids that will do good.
20. Hopkins - Good when they were all pewees 2 years ago.
