Time for comments and votes on Section 2AA.

I think its a 2 horse race between Edina and Minnetonka. These two communities have battled it out for the past 3-4 years at the youth level and now some of those youth players are maturing at the high school level. Minnetonka's Rachel Ramsey, a strong supporting cast and good goaltending will challenge Edina's depth. Edina lost the Section championship to EP 4-3 and returns all but 3 (or 4) skaters from last year's team.

AHA may surprise as they still have Romatoski and will probably pick up a few young transfers but they lost a lot of scoring when they lost Lauren Smith.

EP lost all but 2 or 3 from their regular varsity roster last year. The LaCombe cousins are back but the rest of the roster will be very green.

Chaska was going to be my dark horse but they lost 3 impact players to the Thoroughbreds. Caitie Ladner probably doesn't have enough support to help Chaska challenge for the Section.

Shakopee's Nikki Anderson is back but I don't think she has enough support to make a run.

I don't think Bloomington Jefferson or Prior Lake/Belle Plaine have enough to challenge.

Chaska- Lost a big part of their team but they still have more depth than some and I am sure they have a point to prove. But still not top of the food chain,


EP -Not sure they will have what it takes but again they want to prove people wrong.

Shakopee- Anderson -Big strong and often overlooked, Shakopee also has some good young players that won 12A state last year that should be moving up. Will have to see who will step up.

PL -Lost big scorrer not sure if they have much for depth at the youth level

Edina - Minnetonka Both have lots of Depth at the Youth level and I think will fight for the top spot.

Not sure that AhA is 2AA might be 2A But If so how much ice time will Romatoski get! Hopefully not over used.

Chaska lost 4 seniors, 1 JR. 3 to T-breds and 2 to coaching fallouts, possibly more. Then next year the school splits, dividing the talent further.

I would bet it would be a couple of years before they split hockey teams.

what junior did Chaska Lose?

Danille Williams a junior left Chaska to play with Thoroughbreds and has returned to Waconia HS where she lives.

Who were the other two seniors?
2 went to TB who were the others?

The two seniors were sam krause and lindsey knackstedt.. they graduated last year.

The two that went to the t-breds are Sam and Tam Meuwissen.

Kayla Nicholson quit too, because of "personal reasons"

Shakopee, I think has an outside chance. There one big question will be goaltending. They have a good goal scorer in Anderson and Weinzierl provides some leasdership with the D. Also, they have a great group of talented young 9th and 8th graders. Will be interesting to see how things finish out.

Who does Tonka abd Edina have? I know about the Buie girl for Edina but I am a bit unfamiliar with those programs.

Edina and Tonka have depth in the ranks and good D.
For Tonka you cannot over look Ramsey or Raila
Edina also has a lot of depth with good D.
Not sure how much their goalies have been tested,
they do not face the number of shots many others will face but they are solid.

seems like Edina is always stacked with solid players- they don't have a lot of super stars with tons of scoring but they have several players with consistent and even scoring-

My pick for this section is Minnetonka. With Ramsey, Raila, and Friend in goal (very solid) plus a team that hustles and forces the play they should prevail over Edina.
