Burnsville Peewee A Thanksgiving Tournament

POOL 1:
Lakeville North – Won last four after dropping first 3 games, can they continue that trend?

Eastview – Also riding a winning streak after dropping their first few games. 1st year goalie will be tested.

Inver Grove Heights – New coaches, new attitude. Off to 4-1 start with a victory over Eastview already.

Apple Valley – Old coaches back, tough on the blue line, will they score enough to make a difference?

POOL 2:
Hastings – Typically a slow starting team the last few years. Dropped last 2 to Armstrong and North St Paul.

Minnetonka – Off to slow start, dropped first five games. Losses to Armstrong and Kennedy, took Shakopee to O.T.

Roseville - 1 game in 2 weeks before tournament, should be well rested and prepared to make a run.

Mound Westonka – Beat Kennedy, loss to Sartell. How will the perennial top 2 team from D5 fair against D2, D6, D8 pool?

POOL 3:
North St Paul – Looks to be a down year for them, but not a lot of games played yet. Could finish 2nd here behind BV or last.

Sibley – Two league games against Woodbury, then Eagan to start tournament week, a stretch of 5 games in 6 days with no practices.

Jefferson – Seem down this year, have nice 5-1 victory over Roseville, 0-4 start in district play though with losses to Shakopee and AV.

Burnsville – Off to a hot start, lost first game of year to Blaine, have since ripped off 13 consecutive wins, first place in district 6 currently. Odds on tourney favorite.

BOLD is predicted pool winners.

Pool 1
Burnsville beat up Jefferson 6-0 taking all thirteen points.
Sibley and North St Paul played to a 4-4 tie, with Sibley winning the shootout I believe taking an extra point.

Burnsville 1-0-0, 13 pts
Sibley 0-0-1, 7 pts
No. St Paul 0-0-1, 6 pts
Jefferson 0-1-0, 0 pts

Up next:
BV vs Sibley
Jefferson vs No. St. Paul

Comments:
Look for Burnsville to put a firm hold on winning pool with a victory, Jefferson could make a run for a wild card spot with a victory.

Pool 2
Apple Valley and Lakeville North tied 1-1, with Apple Valley winning the shootout.
Eastview and Inver Grove tied 4-4, with Eastview winning the shootout.

Apple Valley 0-0-1, 7 pts
Eastview 0-0-1, 7 pts
Inver Grove 0-0-1, 6 pts
Lakeville North 0-0-1, 6 pts

Up next:
Lakeville North vs Eastview
Apple Valley vs Inver Grove

Comments:
2 ties, with no team asserting itself with a victory this pool is wide open and the second place team in the pool could be left out for Sundays championship round. It will be interesting to see who shakes out tonight.

Pool 3
Minnetonka thumped Hastings 6-1, taking 10 points.
Roseville beat up on Mound 5-0, taking all 13 points.

Roseville 1-0-0, 13 pts
Minnetonka 1-0-0, 10 pts
Hastings 0-1-0, 1 pt
Mound 0-1-0, 0 pts

Up Next:
Minnetonka vs Mound
Roseville vs Hastings

Comments:
Roseville and Minnetonka look to be making a push for 1 & 2 in the pool with a Saturday night showdown for the top spot. Most likely the Wild Card could come from these two teams as long as they take care of business Saturday morning.

Predictions stay the same, with the Wild card nod going to Minnetonka after the first set of games.

What are you trying to do take fredrick's job on here. I like it the quick version of Fredrick. Both are doing a great job of giving out info on Peewee Hockey. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

Doesn't Freddy have a former AV coach son coaching I.G.H./S.ST.P.? Shouldn't it be time for someone else to offer a open opinion?

Pool 1
Burnsville tops Sibley 6-0 taking all 13 points again. Looking like the number 1 seed for championship Sunday.
Jefferson tops North St Paul taking 10 points

Burnsville 2-0-0, 26 points (max out at 39)
Jefferson 1-1-0, 10 points (max out at 23)
North St Paul 0-1-1, 9 points (max out at 22)
Sibley 0-1-1, 6 points, (max out at 19)

Up Next:
Burnsville vs North St Paul
Jefferson vs Sibley

Comments:
With North St Paul having trouble with 2 teams Burnsville has maxed out on makes this call for Burnsville. Jefferson would have to rip off 13 points to put them in contention for a possible Wild Card spot, but Roseville or Minnetonka would have to falter tomorrow morning for them to be in the mix if they max out.

Pool 2
Lakeville North tops Eastview 2-1, scoring the game winner as time expires, garnering 9 points.
Inver Grove fended off Apple Valley 5-4, securing 10 points.

Inver Grove 1-0-1, 16 points (max out at 29)
Lakeville North 1-0-1, 15 points (max out at 28)
Eastview 0-1-1, 10 points (max out at 23)
Apple Valley 0-1-1, 9 points (max out at 22)

Up Next:
Lakeville North vs Inver Grove
Apple Valley vs Eastview

Comments:
After Lakeville North and Inver Grove lose the extra point in shootouts, they come back with victories to put themselves in a position to win the pool. Fittingly they play each other to decide it, with a previous loss to Lakville North 7-4 it could get interesting. Ties always make for interesting scenarios, the most points you can get in a tie is 8, the least 5. So a Lakeville-Inver tie could put AV or Eastview right back in the mix, provided they max out on points.

Prediction on Burnsville is easy, Lakeville North. with a previous win over Inver Grove, gets the new nod. With Roseville taking the other pool and Minnetonka the Wild Card.

Lakeville North -1
Inver Grove -1

Apple Valley -3
Eastview -1

Lakeville N. and Inver Grove tie in points for pool 1-0-2 . LVN wins tiebreak and moves on to semi's. Good Luck to LVN. GO D8!

Here are MY thoughts on this tourney:

1. its BV's to lose
2. the toughest pool was AV, LVN, IGH and Eastview.
3. Best players that I saw were :
BV # 15 , 16 Minnetoka # 7, IGH # 17, 16, 15 AV #15, 89, 77 Eastview # 79 LVN # 12, 15, 1.
4. Biggest Team Suprise: IGH

I thought this was a good tourney (i know its not over) but a lot of great games. I'm sure the championship rounds will be exciting!
