Is Zach Stepan on Shattuck Tier One Bantam Team the brother of Derek Stepan who skated on the Prep squad last year? I was just peaking at the Bantam stats and Zach Stepan leads the Bantam team in scoring. Are they Related?

Is Zach Stepan any good? I have only seen his team play one weekend. So i would like to know if he will follow his "Cousin's" footsteps?

Zach Stepan, in my opinion, is one of the best hockey players in the state at the 94 level. He can shoot, he can score, he can hit, he's smart, and he knows the game. All around nice player. He's a bantam at Shattuck. Should this be posted in the youth forum?

Zach is a fantastic player. In my opinion, he will play Division 1 college just like his cousin.

My son played with Zach for 4 years on the 94 Fire. He is the best all around player I have witnessed. Strong, great shot, smart. He is also a super kid.

CB00,

I agree with you completely. I was at the Rochester Bantam A game last week and saw #15 play a great game. He had two nice goals against Brock Kautz - one of the best Bantam A goalies in the state.

Where did Derek Stepan end up playing?

Zack Stepan is one of the best players i've seen at his level. He can find the back of the net, he's not selfish with the puck, he hates to lose and works SO HARD. If the saying "you get out of it what you put into it" is true, expect to see this kid in the NHL.

I agree. I hope he keeps working hard and ends up playing in the National Hockey League.

My son played a few years with Zach Stepan on the 94 Fire. Zach is a FABULOUS hockey player. Even more importantly he is a FABULOUS kid.
He has a wonderful work ethic and is a kind and respectful person. I am so happy that Zach and my son are still best of friends even though they attend different schools. My family and I come and watch Zach as often as we can and will continue to do so!!! Good Luck Zach and keep playing with the high ethics and hard work that you always do!!!!

Your second hockey family..... :) MH

Stepan rocks, kid can flat out play and has all the tools "they" look for down the road. He's also in the right place to showcase those skills and receive a major league education while doing it at Shattuck St Mary's.

Rumor has it Stepan has a linemate named montgomery from Oakdale that's really coming into his own as well, with a 6-1 frame and a Bertuzzi like attitude on the ice. Both players will benefit from the surroundings they are in.

There is someone better then Zach

Zach might be one of the best in the state. but there is someone better then him. The two were once teammates in Peewees. Zach left Hastings in the 6th or 7th grade. His teammate which i claim is better then him is Cole Claussen. Remember that name. He'll be the one in the NHL

Ellis - Congrats on your first post. You are obviously a glass is half full kind of guy (or simply delusional). Perspective....

What Are Your Odds Of Making It As A Pro Hockey Player? Dreaming of Playing Pro Hockey

The best way to put this in perspective is to be aware of your odds of making it to "the show".

In 1985, a study was done in Ontario, Canada for all 10 year-old hockey players. At this time, there were 22,000 10 year-olds playing hockey in Ontario. Of these players only 110 made it to the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) and 22 more received scholarships to Division 1 schools.

This means that only 132 out of those 22,000 made it into the top feeder leagues for the NHL. Of those 132 players, only 7 played in the NHL. Those are astonishing numbers.

Thanks lamp, a dose of reality we should all take from time to time.

As for Ellis, my vote is delusional

This kid is a very good player. He is big, fast and can score at will. He is one of the top 3 bantams in the state. Good luck zach.
