Stillwater had a great first weekend with wins against Benilde and Grand Rapids, but has lost to Roseville and tied Hastings this past week. Woodbury is coming off a big win against WBL and a 5-1 start. Thoughts and predictions on the game?

Woodbury in a close game (probably by a goal) as Stillwater can be tough on their home ice.

Ponies need to get the special teams rolling, missing too many chances. I will say
one team 4 - the other team 3.

It would have been significant if the Ponies would have beat GR and Benilde LAST YEAR, both of them are way down this year. I think we saw the real Ponies when they played Roseville and Hastings so I'll go with the Royals 3-1.

Nightman probably has the right take on this one. However, if the Ponies can start playing like a team in the OZ, instead of trying to go it alone as they've done the last 2 games, it could be a very good game. Will require much better passing and overall playmaking to seriously compete with Royals. Assuming the Ponies can upgrade their 5 on 5, and PP passing game, it could be a very interesting game, with a possible 5-4 upset win at home for the Ponies.

What the Ponies really need is a head coach.. Open your eyes Stillwater fans.. Year in and year out Housley solidifies the old saying "Just because you played the game. That does not make you a good coach." He doesn't know to teach the kids. He should have been fired after the Hastings game. Hastings is one of the worst large programs in the State.
Now that he can't blame it on the transfer rule, who's he going to blame?

He has that built-in excuse to blame losing some top kids to private schools. It is amazing to me Stillwater can't seem to build a better program out there...

I second that. The refs were a complete joke. The scorekeeper was awful to the official shots were29-28 Woodbury. My guess is it was closer to 40-25 Woodbury.

Amazing you come on here and throw stones after a couple of losses, AL.
Yet when they started the season by beating GR and BSM you weren't any where to be heard from.

That's because as a fan and someone who loves the community, i'm sick of the same ole' same ole'. As Sparlimb put it. "It's amazing to me Stillwater can't build a better program" I agree.. I'm just sick of all Housley's excuses. He can't blame the Privates anymore. Now what?? That's what happens when you can't get the job done. You blame everyone else.
I certainly don't expect to win a State Championship every year, but for the size of this community and for as mature a program as we have, you would think one of these year's this team would make some waves.
The other night against Hastings was a perfect example. How in the world do you tie a team like that? There terrible.. Didn't they lose to Cretin last night like 12-2?
I've also come to the realazation it's going to be near impossible to get Housley out Just because of who he is. Which is real sad because he has no clue how to teach or motivate kids..

Amen......From what I've heard, the parents don't like him but in typical ex-pro style, he gets his way. He also plays his kid a lot. The kid has some talent but there are others with more.
Housley/Bolin

I'm a long-time lurker on this board. I have followed Wes Bolin's career move to Minnesota from Wisconsin with interest. When he first moved to Woodbury, there was a poll on this site asking if Housley or Bolin would be the better coach. From memory, Housley won in a landslide. To be fair, not many people had any idea who Bolin even was at that point.
It is very interesting to read this site these days with Bolin being called one of the best coaches in the state in the Woodbury thread, and people calling for Housley's head in this thread.
