The Breakdown's Week Ahead (Dec. 15-21) is now up on the website:

http://www.mnsportspreview.com/hockey.htm

It has the top game of the week previewed and then the next nine listed, last week's player of the week, links to the scoring leaders and their latest rankings...lots of good stuff for discussion.

Also, the "hockey encyclopedia" is now out and available! It's 240 pages, very visually appealing and has capsule information on every team in the state, Q and As with about a dozen top kids, feature stories on Edina, Hill-Murray, Century, Redwood Valley, Duluth Marshall and Moorhead, short top player profiles on 170 kids, section predictions and more. It's available at select spots across the state and online at:

Maybe not as big as a few of the games listed, but Duluth Marshall travels north to Hibbing on Thursday for a key game between the section 7a foes. Should be a good early season test for both teams to see where they are at.

No. 11 on the list?

I agree...that one was No. 11 on my list. I'm really curious to get out and see Aaron Jamnick, too. Hopefully, Hibbing will make it within driving distance of me sometime soon.

Probably the biggest week of the year on the east side of Duluth...the Hounds play the toughest team on their regular season schedule in terms of talent, then play what will likely be mentally their most difficult contest two nights later.

East-Cloquet

I'd love to be at the East-Cloquet game and I am heading into Duluth for the holidays, but I get in the next night...and I'll miss it...

Cloquet has had some struggles thus far, including just edging Proctor the other night. Even with the past history in this series, I'd be surprised if the Lumberjacks could win. I think they'll hold the score down, but I'm going with a 3-0 final. And the shutout string continues...

Exact same travel situation here...instead I'll be stuck here in front of my computer trying to get the thing.

I sure hope you're right about the game...
