Anyone have any opinion of this weekend Edina Holiday Tournament? Elk River vs EP, Edina vs Grand Rapids, EP vs Grand Rapids, Edina vs Elk River, Elk River vs Grand Rapids and EP vs Edina. How strong is Elk River and Grand Rapids this year? We all know what Edina and EP teams bring in, but where are Elk River and Grand Rapids at. I always look forward to this holiday meeting of all these teams.

Elk River hasn't faired very well at this tournament to my recollection. Granted they almost beat Edina last year... I look for some awesome competition, entertaining games, and wins being divied out amongst all teams.

Well G.R. doesn't have much to offer this year, quite a young team, i'll say for the T-hawks it will be the same as the last couple years, losses to Edina and E.P and a win against Elk River, but I'm not even sure about
that. Not to mention that A.J Underwood has been less than stellar so far this year.

What will be interesting to see is the game between EP and Edina. Although Edina is solid and playing at home i wouldnt be surprised if there was an upset in that game

Yeah.

Sounds like the night to go will be Prairie vs. Edina and the two mediocre River and Rapids should dook it out, should be two entertaining games.

I wish I was in state to attend!

From what I hear rapids has a long ways to go. don't count them out just yet!!! This will be a good barometer this week to really see where they are at. I'm looking forward to finally see them, especially on TV.

Rapids is young, but definately has some talent. They've been up and down so far this year, but they should come together nicely by the end of the year when it counts.

Will be interesting to see which team shows up in Edina.

This should be a good measuring stick for both Elk River & Grand Rapids. I'm sure we would all agree that both EP and Edina have little to prove in this tournament. It will be interesting to see how Edina fares against EP.

On a side note does anyone know how Mr. Taft is doing? Is he back on the ice? Charlie is a great person both on & off the ice. From what I heard he was not seriously hurt but I have not seen much feed back on the forum.

GR had better bring a little urgency to their game early on.
Need a big night out of Underwood. Weather the storm Edina will bring in the 1st period.

On another note: Does Sarsland always beat around the bush like that? He needs to tell us how he really feels.

Agree or not, you have to respect his passion.

Edina 1
GR 0 after 1.
Edina looks quick. Rapids trying to slow game down a little.
Underwood with some nice saves.

4-1 Edina final.
Rapids played hard, but they need to find a little offense.
Congrats to the Hornets.

good game

I was out at a sports bar. No sound. I thought Underwood looked very good. Rapids put up a fight and looked tired at the end.

Not only did Everson look good, I was impressed with Taft.

Congrats to the Hornets.
Offense? How about some defense? I thought GR battled hard and I don't believe it was a 4-1 game. They looked very tired in the third and coaches seem to still be trying to win with one line.
Just my opinion.
Great work boys - you worked hard and your effort made us proud!

Sounds like Prairie 4, Elk River 2 with an ENG. Every since Elk River stuck it to Eden Prairie 7-1 in the inagural Shwan's Cup (I forget, 02 I think?), I don't think they've beat them since...

I believe Elk River beat Eden Prairie 4-2 in the 06/07 Tournament.

But don't quote me on that!

Edina--

After seeing them the past 2 years they have some work to do if they want it in March. They have alot of time which is good.

I thought TAFT looked great as well, but he needs to learn how to get his shot off. To many times he didnt even get a shot off after a nice move. Moves mean nothing if you can't load the puck and shoot it.

Edina has good talent, but I don't think they are about any of the top 5.

The boys in orange and black did put up a very good effort. It appears to me that against better teams a couple of the defensemen are just plain overmatched. Coaches may have to consider switching a couple players around to add some stability to the blue line.

i think everyone one is really underating elk rive rthis year and in the conversation elk river was beating edina by one all game with help of stelar goaltending but still 8 minutes away froma win agains the "best players in the state" and elk river also stuck with eden prarie which was a game that if the got the bounce at the end the could have won. I just think everyone always overlooks er now cause peolpe always have that bitterness about how the play the game.
