It they don't look past Anoka to the Potato heads, it shouldn't be much of a contest. East by four.

This is a no contest for East tonight.
Considering the weather forecast Anoka should just stay home rather then travel up to Duluth for this game...
East should win by at least 6!!!

Should be a cakewalk for the Greyhounds, as long as they don't do anything stupid.
This may be the only time I see East in person this year, so I'm looking forward to the game and checking out the Heritage Center.

Cooper is to good and east has solid defense which will propel them to win the next 2 and the schwans cup silver division.

Solid win for the Greyhounds. Forbort has improved quite a bit since last year and at times controlled the game. Some have questioned the hype around the East defense, but they lived up to it tonight (even minus Jake Williams), stifling Anoka to just 7 shots and only allowing one real scoring chance that I can recall. Granted Anoka isn't half the team it was last year, but I was still pleased with what I saw on the few occasions the puck entered the home half of the ice.
Offensively there was some very pretty passing going on, though East needs to be careful not to overdo themselves at times. The first period was rather frustrating to watch, as was the first half of the second, minus one very pretty shorthanded goal. About midway through the second they seemed to wake up and put the game away, and that was that. Much of the third was spent with 4th line/JV players on the ice, which is understandable with the looming trip to Moorhead.
I also enjoyed seeing the Heritage Center for the first time. It's a gorgeous arena and complex, and I especially liked the brick-work and the banners commemorating Duluth hockey. It would be nice if they could get some banners up for each of the Duluth schools' state tourney berths; that would be fun to see. It looks to be quite a success, and hopefully its presence will help the surrounding area.
