cant find the active thread on the HM coaches and the response to the incident. Do threads just get deleted here by the mods? Was there too much personal and inproper information discussed in that thread. This was a different thread than the Tartan vs HM game thread that is still active and discussing the same situation....
Is that other thread deleted?

I think you are referring to the post labeled "Kudos to the Hill Coaches"? It is a locked thread but if you go further down you should see it.

The thread was locked, and probably with good reason. There were way too many contradictory rumors floating around there, which were dangerous. Despite our curiosity, I think we need to realize that these are personal issues. Whatever happened has happened, and it's time to move on.

You are entitled to your opinion. The post is still listed and I was responding to the question. That person has the right to ask just as much as you have posting your personal opinion.

If someone wants to PM me as to what happened...I'd love to know. Something is fishy here...

Of course they do. I was just trying to explain why it was locked. The initial poster asked about that too.

It's not an opinion. It's a decision of the Board's Admin...no names.
Of course they have the right to ask. And Mitch or I have the right to say "It's not your business. Drop it."

I would like to know why that last year when WB was going to a similiar situation in that players where kicked off the team that there were threads about it and names where dropped and speculation was coming from everywhere and nothing was done about it. But all of a sudden no one can say a word about this even though they were just trying to applaud the coaching staff.
Maybe this Hill-Murray situation is just a "private" matter

a) It shouldn't have been allowed. We now know better.
b) The justification that "well it was allowed before" doesn't fly. There are any number of things which used to be allowed in every area of society, but are no longer. (Kids used to be able to eat lead paint chips, which may explain why this topic comes up time after time after time...some people are having neural problems and can't take a hint)

There was a heck of a lot more than applause for the coaching staff going on with that thread.
And the charge on Hill-Murray is one of the more ridiculous things I've ever seen on here (and that's saying something), and I'm no fan of Hill.

Listen to Karl and Lee - let it go and quit trying to drag it back up. There is nothing fishy going on. This is one example where nothing was swept under the rug. Issues were handled and the rules enforced. They are just kids - move on.
So...can Benilde beat Edina??? March will be here before we know it!

there is NO freedom of speech on this board. its okay for a dad to trumpet his kids name on everypost, under different names. but call him out and the censors cut it off the board. speculate on why 4 players are off the current state champion, and you get banished. Locked threads. so lets all be pc and just talk about how good the popcorn is at the decc, or what color tape you use to tape your stick. no names given but you still can't talk about it.

to- titanzdman, i thought you apology about your Tartan rant was mature and well spoken.
i also get a little annoyed at the parents and the players blowing their own horn.
The PC stuff is boring

You can't put kids names on a thread in the other place either.
Its a good rule and should be strictly enforced.

I have to agree with titanzdman, we who participate on this board whether a lot or a little love MN. High School hockey, we want to know hs hockey information, that is why were here, I went to the Hill Murray at Edina matchup and it was a great game, I have the roster from that game, will someone post the new HM roster and I will try to do the subtracting of the 4 mystery HM players, do we need permission to post the new HM roster on this board? or as long as the administrator knows who they are then us lesser overconcerned idiots should just shut up and mind our own business, if we all had the correct info this would not be happening, I cant wait for the day when you cant mention the goalies name who blew the soft upper glove side goal, GEEZ!!!!!

thanks. this board is becoming a place to go to get scores and thats about it. there are other sites that do that quite well. yes the HM kids are minors so don't use their names, but, how do we learn a life lesson if we don't know what happened? oh well, the HM people can name all the WBL kids last year and its okay. but if a HM kids screws up, its a taboo subject. oh well in our area you get used to the double standards. HM, CDH and STA can do no wrong, but let one of us tartan, north st paul, south st paul, wbl, stillwater or roseville kids step out of line and we are fair game to how trashy public school kids are, or how stupid we are. this has been going on for years. look back at the archives here, you'll see. protect those private school kids at all costs mr moderator. at the same time mr. moderator in the HM tartan thread, you pretty much called me stupid for my 10-0 comment. here is what you wrote:
It would be kind to say Titanzdman doesn't know much about hockey. That had to be as bad a prediction as I've seen on this Board, and I've seen a lot.
Sometimes newbies need to post less and read more before making themselves look foolish.should i be offended and ask that you be banned from the board? Should iI say looks like the moderator has a "god" complex and wants to rule what is said. he makes bias judgements based on his friendships, or if you went to WBL or HM. well, im sorry i've probably gotten this thread too. or at least easthockey will delete it.

You are all new to this board. The people explaining the situation are people who have been posting for many years and have already been blasted for making bad comments or stupid remarks.
Fact is that Lee and Mitch have the final say, that is why they are called admins. If you have any questions, there is a thread about the rules. As with everything else in life, these are rules. You break them you have to pay the price....Let it go.

exactly. run the board how you want, just be consistant. it's not. to say there arent kids names on here is ridicolous.

You can name names, but the line has been crossed the rules apply just like with the law. YOU are minors and names cannot be given. If in the past names were used, and they slipped by, then it happened. This board is a very good place for information, but a lot of information is on a need-to-know basis.

Of course it's OK to use players' names, so long as it's within reason. In my experience, it's perfectly fine to say "Player X had a bad game against Team A" or even "Player Y is a floater who never helps out in the defensive end," so long as it's kept civil and one player is not consistently targeted by one person.
The issue here was a bunch of contradictory rumors about the Hill players. Therefore, some of them were false, and someone, whether knowingly or not, was spreading misinformation about high school kids. And I do not see how you can justify that.
Lee has already explained his stance on the WBL situation last year, and frankly I have no clue what you might want out of the admins on that other than what you have already received. This is definitely the first time I have seen any accusation of pro-private bias towards the admins, and anyone who has read this consistently will probably agree with that.
As for finding out the names, it's not hard if you put in a tiny bit of effort. Several people have offered to PM them. Somewhere on here someone posted "players who need to step up on Hill," and simply by glancing at that, I was able to figure out who 2 of them are (and I have made no effort to look up the other 2, as I really don't feel it's that pressing that I do).
You could probably even ask "what lines did Hill run in the Tartan game," if you have some aversion to writing PMs or something. All you'd need to do is get a roster, maybe some points totals, and see what lines up and what doesn't. It's really not that hard if you try.
And correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think H-M has made any official roster moves yet (the easiest source for these, the MSHSL, doesn't list any), so of course those haven't been posted.

Furthermore read the article in the paper and there may be more to come in the paper as the Hill-Murray administration made big mistakes with this one.
