This should be a great game with both teams putting great squads on the ice. Both teams have kids who can find the back of the net and both have great tenders between the pipes. Red Wing rated #10 and South St. Paul rated #14.

Predicitons?? Who wins this one?

Depends which teams show up? Both are overated so far this year.
If Wilcox isn't standing on his head SSP can lose to anyone!
I say Redwing in a close game if the refs don't stick it to them.
If you've ever played at Wakota, you know what I'm taking about.

Every team gets "Homered" at Wakota at every level.

Yeah this game could go either way; I would like to think that Red Wing could beat these guys no problem with their playing great as of late but as stated the refs could dictate who wins this game. And due to Red Wings aggressive physical style of play that could mean they are short handed a lot. And with that SSP could really put it to them with their offensive minded team.

I say Red Wing takes this one but it will be close either way.

Ended up going to this one, SSP was the better team on the ice. Came out in the first period flying. Red Wing faught back in the second and got the score to 4-3. But SSP probably realized inbetween the second and third periods that this was there game, and came out in the third and shoved it down Red Wings throat. Pretty good game to watch though

Good description, but what was the final?

The final was 6-3 SSP; I agree that they were just way better tonight, they came out to play a tough game. Red Wing looked stale until the second period, I would have to say they have the same talent level but Red Wing has some young kids that easily get down on themselves when they get down early.

Chalk another loss up for Red Wing to a tough opponent, they got to start winning a few of these tough games.

So how did SSP look? Can they compete with St. Thomas or are they not quite up to that level yet?

SSP will beat St. Thomas this year. Whether they can do it when it counts we will have to see.

To be honest, I really think they can compete with STA this year. They have good power forwards, some good defensemen and a solid goalie. SSP also plays HARD, they hit and are relentless, they never go down without a fight no matter how good they are or who they are playing. I don't know if they can beat STA, but it will sure be a good game. BUT I think we will still see STA coming out of that section and into the state tournament in March, but it should be interesting with 4 teams playing great in that section. St. Thomas Academy, South St. Paul, Mahomtedi, and Totino Grace.

South Saint Paul took it to Red Wing right from the beginning. They were just too good and have to much talent. Also, SSP will beat STA this year. They seem to always play there best in the big games.

I think when it comes to sections ssp will pull through. Coxxy is a wonderful goalie. Poz and young work great together. They are developing a pretty good 3rd line. The team chemistry is maybe the best ever and I think their gonna win a nailbiter I wouldn't miss it for anything
