Morning Ya All, My question is: With all the schools canceled today, does that mean the High School event also has to be canceled??
If so. there will be alot of games canceled tonight.

I'm not completely sure, but in most cases, school cancellation also means game cancellation. There might be a few districts that don't operate that way(?) but the vast majority do, I believe.

While it is usually protical to cancel all activities:
Our district said that it had not made a decision for high school athletics, and they would post it on their website during the day. Nothing as of yet though.

If you aren't in school for the day, you cannot participate in athletics that night. Not the exact wording, but that's the rule. Not sure how you can get around that when no one in the school attends classes...

Well I know that all the parents from our school were left a voice mail stating that if there students chose not to come to school due to the weather that it would be an excused absence meaning they would still be eligible to participate in after school activities/sports...So I guess it will depend on your school district.

Most districts DO NOT have a rule that if school is cancelled, all extra curricular activities are cancelled as well. Most of them treat them seperately (and they should as many times the weather conditions at 7:30AM are not the same at 7:30PM.)
Duluth is one district that does. This is a district rule, not a state-wide rule. There is no state mandated rule that says athletics have to be cancelled if classes are cancelled. It's up to each district.
