Best rebuilding jobs after the first half of this season

I took a quick look at teams that lost a lot of seniors from last year (about half the team or more) and have made great improvements over last year after at least 13 games (half season) Here are my top 3:
1) Elk River, lost 8 seniors, 2007/8 record 8-17-0, 2008/9 record 7-6-0
2) Stillwater, lost 11 seniors, 2007/8 record 9-15-1, 2008/9 record 8-4-2
3) Apple Valley, lost 12 seniors, 2007/8 record 8-16-1, 2008/9 record 9-6-0
All 3 of these teams have basically matched last years wins at half way of this year. I don't know these teams real well so I am asking this...did these teams hang on to seniors last year that should have been cut, are the young guns coming in just a lot better, or have they changed coaches or coaching philosophies? This might be a model for others to follow.

if your looking at 7A you would have to say that Duluth Central is One...
Although their wins are over a few cupcake teams..they are 6-8-1...Last year they were 3-23...They have Doubled their win total...so you could say its a success.

I hope you're underlying purpose is not to propose that teams cut their seniors in favor of younger players?

Not at all, I was just curious as how these teams are doing what they are doing. They lost half their rosters which were seniors and now have rebuilt into better teams. They may also have lost kids to juniors, transfers, quit, etc. Since I don't know them I was looking for commom factors between them.

Wayzata lost 12 or 13 seniors on a 7-15-4 team. They currently stand at 11-4-1 I believe.

A rebuilding job of major proportions, that has not exactly jelled yet, but look to the North, in Roseau...
Lost "Mr Hockey" Ness a year early to early graduation, lost the #1 ranked North American goalie in the upcoming NHL Draft in Lee to Juniors, and a D1 center recruit in Oliver to a bad shoulder for all but two games this season... oh, tell any other town of 2500 putting a hockey team together in MN to be dealt that...
Take those three away in Green & White for 2009, and, well, that is as daunting rebuilding project for any program...

If Hill-Murray makes the State Tournament, they win this debate, in my opinion.

Im gonna go out on a limb here and say benilde. They lost pretty much their whole team considering all of the skill came from the seniors but they are playin pretty strong this year even though they have pat cron as a cappy and I have to admit the kid needs a couple extra roles of sock tape for his ankles.

BSM after there storied year last year, lost all their scoring pretty much, and 4 D
Zierke, Berglund, Student, McCarthy all gone
They are like 12-3 this year with some good wins
Elk river is also having a good year

"If ________________________ makes the State Tournament, they win this debate, in my opinion. Fill in the blank...Shakopee, Worthington...Hill Murray winning state they sure would win the debate...but so would any other team that has no chance. Hill has been castrated i'm afraid.
