3 goals

Two by Mayo in the 3rd period after East had it in running time at 7-1.

Aside from the Denfeld game, East has given up at least 3 goals in all of its games since the Schwan Cup. What happened to the defense that allowed 3 goals in the first 7 games?

Better puck movement, far better shot selection...not shooting the puck into the goalie's gut tends to create better chances for a goal.

. Max had four goals in this one, Brent had one and could have had one or two more. All their forward lines looked good and the D kept the mistakes to a minimum other than the two breakaways (Mayo scored on neither) they gave up early in the 3rd period. It was funny, however, that Mike called a time out after the second breakaway, and then Mayo scored twice after that. Funny, because with a six goal lead, no problem. Had it been tied....

That figures. Lay down against the Panthers then take it out on the Spartans today. Not to mention that Mayo is an awful team in day games.

St. Thomas Academy 2
Tartan 0
Shorts: Tartan 33 - STA 29
St Thomas scored on a power play late in the first and then added an empty netter with 30 seconds left.
It was a really good game.

Possible upset alert in Hopkins...they're on top of Edina 2-0 after 1.
After the 2nd goal, though, nearly the entire game has been played in the Hopkins end, after a few penalties. They'll need Fons to stand on his head to hang on.
