#11 Woodbury lost to Forest Lake
#12 Hill-Murray lost to Benilde-St. Margaret's
#16 Moorhead lost to Thief River Falls and needed OT to get past Brainerd and Warroad
#17 Eagan lost to Eden Prairie
#18 Stillwater lost to Roseville
#19 Hopkins was blown out by Minnetonka

A
#5 Warroad lost to Moorhead in OT

Good teams will usually benefit from a loss here and there.
Going into the sections undefeated creates a lot of extra pressure.
This is probably the best time of year to hit a rough stretch.
Most of these teams will be there in March.
What does anyone else think?

I agree, it is better to get the loss out of the way then get it come playoff time. which is a whole lot harder to swallow. Just look at the Patriots from last year.

ya i guess that is true, but i see #'s 16,17,18,19 all losing, so you gotta believe at least 3 of those team will be knocked out of the top 20, and WB is coming off a win, roseville not so lucky, so you gotta believe they will be moved into the top 20.

WBL is at #14 in the Karl (East) Poll.

I don't see Roseville being moved up much, though. All they've really done this year is beat Stillwater and WBL. Beyond that, it's ugly. Those wins make them a contender in the section, but not on a statewide level.

Maybe now the people who kept Falls in the top 15 after losing to the Coleraine Raiders will finally realize their beloved broncos aren't that good. I was surprised to see this many teams lose but you guys hit the nail on the head, get the losses outta the way.

This is a good point. Roseau went into the state tournament undefeated last year and it didn't end well for them.

I think the same might happen for Jefferson. They will have only faced a few tough teams and most likely will go to sections undefeated. It could be a rude awakening for the Jaguars.

I think that loss is more likely to come in the section final than anywhere else, but I agree with the point.
