Metro Hockey League Playoffs--JGB

Hey, does anyone have an idea how the metro hockey league playoffs are going to be formatted to determine who goes to state for JGB ? In years past, the metro hockey league was one league and the top 12 teams competed for 6 state spots. With the league separated into east and west, will the two be combined or will the state spots be split with three going to the west and three to the east? Let me know your thoughts guys. Also, I apologize if this already common knowledge, I just do not know where to find it.

From what i have understood from metro coaches is that they will take the top 6 teams from each division. Then they will combine to play playoffs. I dont know if they will seed them 1-12. I heard it may go like #1 East vs #6 West, #1 West vs #6 East, #2 East vs #5 West and so forth

That should be interesting to see...
Any thoughs on what's the better division? East or West? Which has the best team? Is either Division deeper in talent then the other?

You are right freighttrain; the top 6 from each division make the playoffs and 6 state berths are awarded from there. I haven't seen or heard how they will determine matchups for sure though.
IMO, the West division is the deeper division. There is a clear top 5 (both Edina's, both Wayzata's, and OMG-White) and then there are a handful of teams that will end up battling for the 6 spot (Buffalo, Burnsville, EP). Even the bottom tier teams in the west are not considered cakewalks (Minnetonka, Crow River, Prior Lake) since these teams have played the top teams tough.
The East Division is pretty top heavy with both WBL's and Roseville being the front runners. N St. Paul is surprising everyone so I'm not sure what to expect out of them. St. Thomas is also starting to come on strong with a ton of games left to play. After those teams, there a few decent teams and alot of weak teams.
If it was the same format as last year, I see 7 maybe 8 teams from the West being in the playoffs.

So what is it 6 teams from the Metrohockeyleague qualify for state and the final two bids go to District 8? Lakeville, IGH, hastings, any one of those?

Yeah D8 sends 2 teams.

Yeah. JGA has a handful of northern teams but all JGB teams are in Metro or D8
