With the loss to St Louis Park, Totino is probably looking at a 5 seed in section 4A unless they can muster a win against the Cadets on Tuesday.

If im correct, they didnt lose to St.Louis Park. They lost to Spring Lake Park. And it wasnt really a loss to my understanding, 7-2 is more like a domination. Yes they did out shoot SLP but only 42-37. I cant see TG coming up with an upset in this one.

You are right, Spring Lake Park is the one in the section and the one they lost to, who will probably have the #4 seed.

Unless Totino can really pull it together I see them losing by 5 or more goals.

honestly it doesnt matter who gets the 4 or 5 seed between the two of them...they are going to play each other in the quarterfinals anyways..

The Minnesota Sports Broadcast Network will a very good hockey broadcast on this evening as it is rivalry night on MnSportsNetwork.com. In a rematch of last years Section 4A Semifinal has the Totino-Grace Eagles (12-5-2) lead by senior captain Dan Delisle (UMD Recruit) traveling to Mendota Heights to take on Christian Isackson (GOPHERS recruit) and the Saint Thomas Academy Cadets (15-3-1). This battle of private schools could be a preview of a future playoff contention in about a month as these are some of the top teams in Section 4A. STA defeated T-G by a score of 6-2 in that section semifinal game last season.

haha

edit: they're not the best team in class A, if they were, they obviously would have won 15-0.

deacon, you hit the nail on the head. Little Falls beat Wadena 9-1 tonight. If St Thomas played them, they'd probably win 7-2 or something

STA seemed to have the extra step in them all night. There were times when it seemed that TG was standing around because of how well the Cadets passed and skated. Of course, this was after STA got up quickly 3-0, that will break the spirit of many teams.

Totino is not as bad as they looked in this one. They will rebound. They have been playing up and down lately. Just a few weeks ago, they tied Breck 1-1.

Another thing is their starting goalie left school the day of due to a sickness. So the back up had to play and going in to it TG was down because they lost the confidence of having their starter and it didn't help that they got an early lead either

This is very true. Didn't want to pin it all on the goalie, but you put it well with the confidence factor.

TTG's defense must have really played hard. Get em out of the top 20.

STA was the much better team on the ice all around. The Eagles other goalie may have made a small difference but the outcome would have been the same with the game I saw.

STA is clearly a better coached team. I think there was a previous thread about bad high school coaches. I hear that TG's best D was out with a groin. It wouldn't have made enough of a defference for TG to pull out a win, but may have kept in closer. :(
