Any thoughts on this game? The bluejackets haven't played a game for like 10 days and the broncos have won their last two games at a total of 28-1.

Hibbing won 7-1 earlier in the year, but I believe it was International Falls' first game of the season. I Falls has proven they can beat some of the top teams in the state if they come to play (Rochester Lourdes, Hermantown) and I would expect them to be ready for this game.

International Falls 3
Hibbing 2

The key words "If they come to play". This team has been all over the place this season. Maybe should consider starting another poll: Which Broncos team will show up?

Hibbing again the favorite in this contest, but I have to give the edge to the falls after all they are playing on home ice. Not easy to win at the Falls, especially if the crowd is loud.Falls wins this emotional game.5-4

I keep hearing about the inconsistencies of the Falls and I just don't see it. They lost one bad game to Greenway, that's it. They weren't a full squad the first 2 weeks and since then they have proven to be a fairly solid team. Even in their loss to Greenway the play was one sided, but their goalie didn't show up. He followed that performance up with a shutout against Fort Frances. It's not what Falls team shows up, it's do they have the "Hart". Ok, that was cheesy.

I believe Vechell is still out with a wrist injury of some sort. Don't know for sure? But falls has won 2 in a row 28-1 look who you've played. Ely and Two Harbors. The worst two teams in the section. Congrats, Hibbing has had a whole 10 days to get ready for this big section 7A matchup and I don't see them losing!

The last game they played 1 good period against Virginia, and even though they outshot Greenway I thought they played awful, then not all that well against Bemidji, and had the first game against the Fort in hand and blew it. They've taken stupid penalties at very bad times - eg: Virginia in the last 5 minutes. And their power play has been a no show in some games where it have showed up - at least a couple shots on net. Those things don't happen nearly as often with solid teams and programs. The letdown against Greenway was not a surprise at all after the win over Hermantown. IMO a lot of the problem comes down to a lack of discipline which in part goes beyond the players. This comes from someone who is a Falls resident and Broncos fan. What about tonight? I'd say it's toss-up and do agree about having the "Hart" LOL A close game wouldn't surprise me and neither would a blow out either way.

When I talked to one of the Hibbing students at the Denfeld game he said that Vechell would probably be out 3 weeks. So that does include this game I believe. Hopefully he'll be back soon cause i think Hibbing needs him badly back on defense.

I agree with uffdapete, that if the falls plays as a team they will do very well, but their discipline will win out in the end. The coach (pretty-man) should have stepped on a few toes many games ago. Maybe it's time for new blood in the coaching ranks.(Gordon)

uffdapete,

Thanks for explaining the ups and downs of the Broncos' season. That's the stuff the Daily Journal doesn't print, so I have no way of knowing about stupid penalties taken, or poor coaching decisions, etc... Since the local businesses in the Falls stopped sponsoring Broncoradio.com, I don't get to listen to games anymore. All I really see is boxscores and message boards. Thanks for the info. Go Broncs!

Why does everyone blame the goalie if they lose a game? Yeah, I'll give you the Greenway game. But if a goalie doesn't have a defense in front of him, you can't expect him to stop everything! If they win, it was a team effort, but if they lose, it's the goalie's fault? That's bogus!

The Greenway game is the only game I mentioned that the goalie played bad and you agreed with me. Did I not say they are a solid team? The goalie is part of the team. No other sport has one player that can impact the game as much as a goalie in hockey.

The goalie wasn't the only one who didn't show up to that game though. All I am saying is that the goalie always seems to get blamed even if the entire team did a lousy job! If he doesn't have defense, it is a much harder job! The Falls is a solid team, but they need to start working together if they want to win big games!
