How will East do traveling to play the #5 Lake Conference team?

The Hounds are playing well lately. They have won 5 in a row, Max Tardy is on fire, and each line is producing. Unless they come out flat or get into penalty trouble, I think East will win this game.

They are playing well, but I still believe they aren't playing to their potential. There is something that is just missing, I can't explain it but when we play Cloquet there is a passion for beating them and this drive to outplay them. I don't feel it's there as of lately. I know Cloquet is a huge rival but we just need to play more like that in every game. We saw East can be beaten by poor teams. I just hope they don't choke in sections because they really are the best team in the section, it's theirs to lose.
East by 3

As a few others have predicted, East by three.
And I wanna hear from the person who picked Apple Valley. Don't be shy now!

While I think picking Apple Valley would be a bit crazy, they did lose to what some call the top team in state by 3. AV will definitely make it a good game I suspect.

This will be a good game because of the history, everyone knows about the game in '96 and this has been one of those solid MN hockey rivalries that no one talks about ever since then, I say it will be a good game, East probably wins it because they are the better team, but it's close and they have to travel to AV which will hurt them a little

We have a 2nd mystery vote for AV in the poll...
AV's not a bad team; probably somewhere between 20th and 30th in AA. If enough things go right this could be a close one. East by 3 seems to be the trend, so I'll jump on the bandwagon.

This is the same team that is .500 overall and has already lost to Burnsville 6-3, Bloomington 6-1, Chaska 5-1, Fargo South 5-1 and EP 5-0.
I just don't see it happening at all against a higher level team, but I've been wrong before.
East by 3 goals, because they're a defensive team.

HockeyHigh, this is also the East team who has lost to Breck and Century. Apple Valley plays a Lake schedule and when you do that, everyone usually stumbles sometime.
Not saying East will lose, I doubt they will, just that rankings really don't always mean much. Who would've thought East would only beat Denfeld by 2? They were probably overlooking them. East SHOULD cruise through the rest of their schedule, especially if they play every game like it matters, but if they overlook any of their opponents, AV is probably the most likely to come up and bite them. AV is looking at anywhere between a 2 and 4 seed in section 3AA, an East win could really help them out.
I wish this game were in Duluth, it should be a good one.

I'm not any of the mysterious votes for AV that your waiting to here from but my take: Traveling could hurt East however it being a non conference game i t is looked at usually by the coach at AV as less important and it would not surprise me if Gretz got the night off. The last few years it has seemed the better goalies have gotten rest against East not sure why this is, why not play for the upset? East is good no doubt they have the egde in this one. Hopefully AV keeps it tight and could maybe pull it out. If Valley wants to keep sittign in the box like they love to do it will hurt them just as it has against Jefferson, EP, and the loss to Burnsville. If they had more discipline to stay out they could play some very competitive games with these top teams. Fischer is still out as well which I think has made them more of a 1 line team.

Apple Valley did tie Burnsville without argubly their two best players on Saturday 4-4. On Tuesday, they also kept up with Jefferson most of the game especially 5 on 5 hockey the score was 0-0 (Jefferson scored 2 SH goals and 1PP goal). So, don't count your chickens before they hatch, it will be a very interesting matchup.
