Other then the Magicians or N Edge, are then any south metro 12U AAA Hockey options?

I agree with this 100%. There are definitely teams in the league that are weaker and maybe shouldn't be classified as AAA. The 'elite' parents want to make sure their 'elite' kids don't skate on the same ice with anybody but other 'elite' players so they look to club AAA teams outside the league. My experience has been these independent teams end up costing more. Then they still want to play in a couple of the league-sponsored tournaments but might not get in. Then they go looking for scrimmages against the top teams from the league, so the only thing they are saving in the end is that they don't play a couple of the bottom teams from the league. Now this year all the independent teams are playing almost a regular schedule against each other--a 'league', if you will. What sense does that make? I shouldn't talk, however, since I am not following this good acvice and my daughter is skating on an independent team this summer.Night Train wrote:I think the Minnesota AAA Hockey League, operated by Showcase, is the best option for girls.....

I know, I know. Everyone thinks they can do it better on their own. Guess what, you can't. 100 people have tried. The time, energy, and money invested to try and do this independently is significant. The girls should work to make the MN AAA Hockey League the place to be. Want to add tournaments, do it. Want to add additional ice time, do it. The structure is in place, The Minnesota AAA Hockey League.
