I see Centennial Black plays Proctor and Priceton plays Proctor today. Have only seen Princeton play, so can't make a prediction myself. Anyone in the know care to make a guess?

Anyone at the games for some analysis?

I've seen Proctor play several times this year. More then just a one player team. Thye lost three times all year. Two of their losses was when their goalie was hurt in the Duluth tournament. Looks like they played Princeton and Centennial tough?

Most good 12B teams are dominated by one or two kids who probably shouldn't be playing at the B level, but because they're in organizations who don't run an A team, or where the kid got missed in tryouts, they dominate. If the big associations took their second 15 and made a B team, they'd kill. (Wayzata, EP - Edina's 2nd 15 are an A team)

If its one thing I've learned over the years, when 2 good teams play, more often than not neither team has it's best game for obvious reasons. Glad to see you were privy to a decent game though.

Princenton vs North Metro should be a dandy game as well with North Metro at 23-3-1 and 21 shutouts it looks to be a good matchup. A post game synopsis would be very much appreciated.

I agree with U10 dad. Most 12UB teams are dominated by one or two exceptional players. This typically is what seperates the good teams from the rest. Not sure who Prcotor plays up north, but looks like they have competed with the cities teams. From what I seen in the Princeton team is they are very well balanced. Good depth. Not sure if they have that "one" player, but very good overall. They are also very well disciplined and well coached. Should make for a good district and region play down for them.

Sad part for the smaller schools (I had to go to mapquest to figure out where Proctor even was) is that the 14 girls on their roster are probably their whole association. I couldn't find a 12U "A" team or even a 14U team that you could bump up a girl or two. The small handful of girls that are 14U eligible are probably up on JV. Bigger cities, with a large populus like you mentioned, have multiple 12U teams and 50 or 60 girls vying for teams. 50 - 60 vs 14 is a huge difference when the girls go on to high school. The likes of Proctor/Hermantown/Marshall, Duluth, Grand Rapids and Cloquet have all been rated in the state girls this year and 3 of them lingering in the top 10. What makes the difference? Population numbers alone should predicate the cities dominance, and they have for the most part, but for the smaller schools to even compete at that level they must be doing something right. Coaching?

I'm just a guy raised in a small town living in the metroplis that roots for the underdogs or wanting to see the next cinderella story. I'm tired of New England, Dallas and Pittsburg. LOL

Wow! North Metro has been playing good hockey of late. It should be interesting to see when the rankings come out this week. Both Centennial Red and Princeton lost last week. Could mean some movement in the top five. Any predictions on who will be Number one this week?

I to have seen the proctor team play. They are much more than a one or two player team. I checked their web site and their goaltender has 13 shut outs and a goals against avg. of 1.3! That tells me a couple of things, one the must have very solid defense and their goalie is very good as well. The proctor team has only given up 44 goals in 33 games. From what I can tell Proctor only has 14 girls in the whole program. No u10 or u14 teams. Should be a good region and state tournament. I look forward too to following this Cinderella story of the little town team vs the big bad cities teams.

North Metro is a team full of tall girls that can skate.

I watched them lose to Mahtomedi Gold in a tournament in January by a score of 1-0. It was a game filled with excellent defense and good goal tending. They went on to dominate a very good Centennial team the following day.

Not sure what game the mom from Princeton was watching but the game I watched was two teams playing good even hockey. Proctor defense & goal tending was a strong part of their team and from what I seen the puck was on both ends of the ice an even amount. Of course when a team loses that is not used to losing their are always excuses like "we were missing 2 key players" but the reality of it is any given game missing players or not those teams are strong and it go go either way no matter what! Hope to see them is State with a full healthy team!

Princeton - 187 goals in 40 games = 4.68 goals per game
Proctor - 199+ goals in 33 games = 6.03 goals per game

Princeton - 53 goals allowed in 40 games = 1.33 goals allowed per game
Proctor - 44 goals allowed in 33 games overall = 1.34 goals allowed per game
Proctor - 31 goals allowed in 31 games with their regular goalie in the net - I think that's 1.00000000

And I couldn't agree more - I think post-season play will be interesting for sure...

I don't have a clue - just going off what JohnnyBuck stated above.

2 games in one day can be quite a grind for the whole team, but especially for the less seasoned/younger players who haven't figured out to save a little for the next game. That's where it can affect the whole team.

My friends child plays on the team and there goalie was injured during a practice as the Bantam boys shoot on there goalie to keep her on her toes and her elbow pad slipped during a slap shot and was pretty sore so had to sit out a BIG week of hockey for them.
