The D10 tournament should be really good with Cent Red playing Coon Rapids (winners of 9 of last 10) St Francis who plays everyone tough and Blaine who played Red to two very close games and the only team to beat princeton (besides Red). And Princeton and Cent Black will play to go to the ship on the other side of the pool, which should be a good game.

The district 1 tournament is shaping up to be good with the play-in games last night both going into overtime and some of the seedings will be good to watch with evenly matched teams in this district excluding Mahtomedi Blue who has only been beaten once in district play.

Keep us posted! District 10 will be tough. My predictions are Centennial Red will take one spot and Blaine will suprise everyone and take the 2nd spot. Centennial Black may be the dark horse?

I think Coon Rapids is the one to look out for. They are the hot team beating most of the teams down the stretch. And having close games with the top 4 in the standings. They look tough.

Have to agree with HM5 - It would be a major shocker if Red and Princeton aren't moving on. Have seen Coon Rapids 3 times this year and while they are a team of grinders (good thing in close games), I feel they lack scorability. Unless things have changed in the last month of course and it's hockey and anything can happen. Good luck to all the teams.

Question is why does Centenial Red get an automeatic bid into regions just for winning their league? I thought that is what playoffs are for? Is this the same for all other districts?

Yes they do automatically go because they won the District in points - whether they are the #1 or #2 seed depends on whether they win the tournament championship.[/quote]
I understood that they got an automatic bid becasue they took first in the district. My question is "Is this a distrcit 10 rule or is this the case across the state"? Too me that is what they play offs are for. District points should be for seeding, not to give a team an automatic bid. Teams should have to earn the regional spot based on the playoffs. No freebies!

The Princeton-CentBlack game will be decided by the officiating, IMO. If they get control early it will be a good game, if not it will get ugly in a hurry. The last time these two teams played (at Princeton) it looked like Centennial might need to hire a fleet of ambulances to get their players home.

When are the district 10 games done? Who plays who? Please update if you have info on these district games.

District 10 games conclude this weekend 2/28 - 3/1. CentRed vs Blaine and Princeton vs CentBlack on 2/28. Winners play on 3/1. If CentRed beats Blaine, the winner of Princeton/CentBlack automatically qualifies for Regions regardless of the 3/1 outcome. If Blaine pulls an upset, then the 3/1 game will determine the final spot.

District 15 does it the same way. Park Rapids won the league and are automatically berthed to the Regions. The only reason they play in the District Tourney is for seeding which they won anyway.
Red plays Blaine - 2/28 @ 1 pm
Princeton plays Black - 2/28 @ 4:45 pm
All are undefeated in the tourney.
If Blaine loses to Red, do they have the opportunity to play the winner of Princeton and Black?

If Blaine loses to Red, their season is over since the winner of Princeton/Black will be 3-0 in the tournament. Unfortunately, there is no provision for them to have the Red game "ignored". IMO, since Red already clinched a spot in Regions by winning the regular season, they should not even be playing in the tournament this week. Of course, since the Red is playing only for "pride", Blaine might sneak past them.

You have got to be kidding me? Ambulances? Were you watching the same game as everyone else? Our girls are physical but not cheap which can't be said the same for other teams. One of the girls on the Centennial Red team called my daughter a C--T when we played them and beat them. She was also called a B-T-H and an A-S-H-L-E. I can say that our girls do not talk like that irregardless of the circumstances.
I think you've got your colors mixed up. The Red team is known for its "salty" language (just ask Andover, who filed a formal complaint against them). I've not heard any complaints about the Black in that regard.

I will say one thing - Centennial Black is definatley one of the classiest teams (Players and Coaches) I've been around all season.
