It will no doubt depend on which goalie gets the start on Thursday. With no disrespect to the goalie that's played most of the season and played it well, in his last three starts against Blaine it's obvious Blaine's got him pegged. And from what we've seen, you don't want to put the other goalie in cold once the starter gets behind.

While he hasn't had a start since early in the year, IMHO the only chance MG has is to start the other guy and see what happens. That AND stay the heck out of the box. Blaine's PP has got to be one of the best in the state at 38.2%. MG can't afford to risk loose cannons on the ice that will leave them short handed. A classic was against Osseo last Saturday, stupid penalty AFTER the whistle AFTER Osseo scored.

Good luck Crimson. Hope you can do it!

dont agree about the goalie Sean Elmer but I do agree about the penalties, Maple Grove is a very very physical team and sometimes they over do it for sure. Blaine's Power Play is Amazing!

Just like it was last time... Sounds a little bit more like an opinion from a homer than a solid observation. Call me crazy....

I'm assuming this game will determine the sectional rankings. It seems like there is a new hero for Maple Grove in each big win. I'm sure Blaine will be at the top of their game. Maple Grove will need to stay out of the penalty box this time to win.

Maple Grove has obviously picked their horse to ride for the section tournament and that is going to be Elmer. When the "other goalie" lost his spot it was because he was an idiot and get busted for the second time so he had to sit 12 games. You don't get your spot back when you come back especially when Elmer played fairly well.

So you don't put the back-up in for a big game...you keep your horse in net to get him ready for the section tournament.

Well as far as I'm concerned it's a toss up at this point. With Blaine coming off the two big losses to conference foes they will be hungry that's for sure. On the other hand Maple Grove is riding a nine game win streak and has been playing very well since there last loss to the Bengals.

With Blaine's aggressive style of play and there tape to tape passing the Crimson will have to be on there best behavior (no careless penalties) if the expect to pull out a win tonight at home.

The Crimson will have to score early, the defense will have to kick it up a notch with Gaustad out and the goal tending will have to be rock solid if this team plans on bringing home NWSC Title.

The homer is predicting a 4 - 3 win for the crimson tonight.

I'm sure Blaine is chomping at the bit for this game. The last game was a bit embarassing for the Crimson. However 4 of the goals were scored on the power play. I'm sure we won't see the dumb penalities this time. They will miss Gaustad on D though. Look for Cosette to step it up a notch. They will also have Sinz back on the 2nd line who the coaches sat in the last meeting. This should help Carlson and Horton. Look for the big 3 (Dee, Gross, & Malone) to have a big night.

I was at the game and the refs were possibly the worst in the entire state.

Nice excuse... :? the MSBN announcers said the refs calls were legit.

7-2 Blaine. Brodzinski with the tap in.

Those guys love Blaine. You also are telling me you call highsticking on an interference by blaine when blaine is already on the powerplay. Obviously MG didn't play well, but The refs gave them the momentum to take the game. Five on Five maple grove matches up very well against blaine.

I will admit Bjustad is sick and without him blaine goes from being top 5 team to top 15 team
