I would like to here what the take is on the fire/blues game last weekend. The Blues won 2-1. I heard the fire was'nt that impressive.

Then by logic the Blues must not be impressive because they only beat a not so impressive team by one goal. Sounds like two so-so teams were in a battle.

I asked for a take on the game from someone who saw it.

Bruins has it wrong. If a so-so team beats the (best squirt team in Mn) whats that say?

It could "say" a lot of things, but I don't think it means a whole lot. The 98 Fire is pretty solid team, based on their record this winter. But they ARE still a bunch of 10 year olds, and 10 year olds aren't always the models of consistency. They could have just had an "off" night and/or the other team played really well.

From the beginning of the season, many of the '98 Fire parents were quick to acknowledge that the Fire team could be beaten by a good association team, which has occasionally proven to be the case. As M&G stated, they are 10 and 11 year old boys, and, as we all know from our kids' teams, you never know for sure who will show up to play on any given day. Nonetheless, regardless of your opinion of the Fire organization, the '98 Squirt majors had a successful season. Hats off to the boys on that team who played hard all season.

I have no opinion of the fire organization. I was wondering if the blues are for real. Thats all.

The blues aren't AAA so this joker is a parent of another AAA team that dislikes the Fire.

My son plays winter hockey for our district and in the summer plays AAA you have the two threads mixed up.

I think it's unfair to say the WI Fire is the best team in MN. They are a very good team and play solid hockey, but when you look at the best SQ in MN I think you stop at Farmington or Rosemount who have consistently beaten every top squirt team to come at them including the Fire.

As for the Blues, they look like a solid team by their record and that's all I can comment since I have not seen them play. However they took a beating from Minnetonka who just took a beating from Farmington which leaves me questioning whether they are good or that they play in a much weaker state of hockey???

It looks like the Tonka game was early in the year. Fargo should be interesting next weekend

Tonka beat them a little over a month back when they were playing their best hockey. It didn't hurt that GFB were playing w/o two of their better players and their goalie was out as well.

I wouldn't put too much wait on the Farmington shared practice, that is not the tonka team that usually shows up from what I hear. Or else Farmington is that good, I heard they put a beating on Rosemount as well but Rosemount's goalie kept them in it.

Wow, must be your 1st kid in hockey. Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back about your kids team. Does it really matter what anyone thinks about your son's team.
