I got Mayo 4-2 with an empty net. Mayo rested their best players tonight against Dodge County in the mid 2nd and 3rd periods. I think Century will be tired from their OT game tonight.

Even though the game went into Ot, it didn't seem like Century expended all that much energy. They played 3 lines much of the game and the puck didn't leave Winona's end all that much. Kautz didn't play much whether by design or injury I don't know but he should be well rested if he's healthy.
Neither team looked in very good condition when they met 2 weeks ago and it's too late in the season to change that now so conditioning is equal. Mayo had some illness issues then and Century lost 3 players during the game plus had a defenseman out with injury prior to the start so I think that's a wash.
I think Mayo is the better team but until they win a game at this point in the season I can't buy into them. Century 4 Mayo 2

Kautz did not dress for the game vs Winona.
Century did not roll three lines for any part of the game. They may of seen 1 or 2 shifts a period.
Century got a little banged up in their OT win vs Winona.
If those players can't go today it will be a long mid-day game for the Panthers.
Mayo 5 Century 2

Tough break mayo, they had a good season. Alexander worked very hard and had 3 goals. Mayo having only one line killed them. Yaggy still had a good game, his Defense didn't help him out much. Stopped multiple breakaways.
Century battled the whole way through. Sellnow had a great game. Century capitalized on their scoring chances and fought off numerous penalties.
Section Championship, should be a good game no matter what Lakeville.

Haven't been able to watch these teams except for Mayo this year. I thought that Mayo was the deffinite winner out of these two squads? What happened down there in chester?

Why do you care? The game is over. The better team won today and we'll be rooting for them on Friday against North. Should be a good game.

It was closer than the score indicates. Century just made the fewest mistakes and looked like they wanted to win it more than Mayo. It was a good game though. Had to sit in front of Century parents, which sucked. Swearing the whole time.

Century outworked Mayo. They are pretty much at full strength, playing hard and things are going their way. Should make for a good game next Friday at the Rec.

We are still here. Let me know when the Bears win a quarterfinal game at the state tournament ok? When that day happens, you can spout off on the board ok? Oh wait, I forgot February 30th is more likely to happen first.

Mayo will not root for Century in the final against North, and that is okay. Remember No one likes that school especially Mayo! But Century showed just how much they wanted to win, and sometimes being the underdog is better then going into the game on top. The final should be a great game.
