These 2 teams aren't even of the same caliber. There are some high school teams that would rock the T-birds.

I can't think of one high school team that would rock the Tbreds. The speed in these games are way faster than any high school game I have seen and I've been to a lot. The scores do not reflect the actual games. Anyone that was there would probably tell you that. Shattuck is a very talented team, as they should be. Good luck to them in the Nationals. They will represent MN well.

If you look at the Thoroughbreds I think most of them would be top player or at least top three player on a HS team - most of them are with Thoroughbreds becuase they come from weaker HS programs. Put 15 top HS players together and you would beat most HS teams - would they beat Stillwater probably not but they would do very well. Both of these games were close through 2 periods. SSM won them both in the third.

i think some people underestimate the tbreds. honestly if you have seen them on top of their game and when the leaders of the team are all having wonderful games it really gets the team going.. and none of the high school teams would touch the tbreds on a day like that.

Some years that might be true when the T-Breds have 4 or 5 DI recruits, but is that the case this year? They're obviously deeper than any HS team but I can think of a few teams that would give them a run.

Recruiting all over the nation and in Canada???? Where are you getting your information from? All the girls, except 2 are from MN. The other 2 are from Wisconsin and live close to the border. Before you make a comment like that or tell others, you really should have your facts right.

I think he was referring to SSM. I disagree that these girls are on the top of their High school team. 2, 3, 4 maybe more like it. And I still believe there are some high schools out there that will give them a run. Most AA-- all that were in the tourney and probably even the top 3 A schools also.
IMO.

Have you even seen the Thoroughbreds play? Not just once, as every team has its ups and downs, but enough times to form an opinion. Most people don't know about the girls on the Thoroughbreds because their stats etc. aren't reported on like the high school girls. They aren't up for Ms Hockey/Goalie because they aren't eligible. I'm not implying that any one player would be, I'm just stating a fact. The girls choose to not play hs and they are fine with it. But, at least give some of them the respect they deserve. Obviously, some years are better than others, just like hs. But, there are some very talented girls on the team and it would be nice if more people would acknowledge it. I believe one of the girls is signing with the Gophers this year---just like a girl from Hopkins.

Looking at the site looks like they have one D1 player going to MN and 4 D3 players announced to date. I don't know all of the players well but there are a few Thoroughbreds who have already been stand out players in HS or NDP Selections who have gotten significantly better by playing with the Thoroughbreds and would be considered very top HS players if they were still playing HS hockey:
Kari Lundberg JR Woodbury - started in 8th grade at Woodbury and joined Thoroughbreds in 10th - top 2010 D1 prospect
Dani Williams JR Chaska - top player who can play F or D - U16 2008 NDP selection at Forward - top 2010 D1 prospect
Stephanie Anderson SO NSP - top player who started playing HS in 8th grade and was a standout in 8th and 9th grade before joining Thoroughbreds in 10th - one of the top 2011 D1 prospects has gotten significantly better/stronger this season
Kate Beemer SO Hudson - U15 NDP selection at D from Wisconsin 2011 prospect
Katie Frischmann SR Rochester - Defense committed to play at MN
Lindsay Burman JR Cambridge Isanti Forward - top 2010 D1 prospect
