new ulm is riding a big winning streak, but beat the #5 seed litch by 2 goals in the semis, 5-3. hutch played the #3 seed willmar in the semis and handled them pretty good,5-1. both teams played the night before. any predictions for the final game?

These two, formidable hockey powers are sure to be in the mix for the Class A championship.

They've always had that reputation. Always a physical game with them.

I attended this one, and the enviroment was great. Especially the New Ulm fans, and I'd be willing to be there were 2000 people or so in attendance tonight...

First off, Once New Ulm got down they got very cheap/chippy couldnt stay out of the box, etc, and it killed them on goal #3 for the tigers.

Hutch's goalie may be the only reason the tigers don't et murdered at state. Best player on the ice IMO was hutch's #4, he was great.

Sad end to the NU season, but one team had to lose. NU totally outplayed hutch in period one and #33 kept the tigers in the game throughout that period

alright heres my take on the game, first off I wouldn't argue with 2000 people being there.. it took nearly 20-30 minutes of waiting in line just to get in

as for the game, New Ulm came out great they controlled the first period they had a few great chances right away but Swenson was able to stop them all but one... Hutch wasn't able to score in the first but they probably had 3-5 good scoring opportunities

The second period Hutch came out and was able to get one and tie things up, shots were a little more even this period and this period had a few penalties go both ways

The third period Hutch seemed to step things up right away by capitalizing on New Ulms penalties.. New Ulm's goalie made a few huge saves stopping Hutch on a 2-1 and a breakaway but they weren't able to score... each team had a few penalties but New Ulm's just came at the wrong times for them and Hutch as able to finish the game out 3-1, shots were 31-30 in favor of New Ulm

Overall a really good game to watch, both goalies played fantastic but Hutch just had a few good tips that got by the New Ulm goalie

I didn't think the New Ulm goaltender was nearly as solid as the Hutch tender.

New Ulm Hockey: When we start losing, play cheap, dirty hockey and take penalties.

By no means were any of the NU pens cheap and dirty. NU's pens were 2 trips, a hook, an elbow, a rough that sent a player from both and two many men. Some of the pens were weak calls for both teams. Where is the cheap dirty stuff you are talking about? Let's face the real facts in Southern Minnnesota people love to hate NU. I give credit to Hutch for beating NU (twice) and if you were there you would have seen a really good game with no cheap stuff from either team. Very classy and respectfull game from both teams.
