This is still a while away. In the old system, it was section vs section so you would know once everyone won. Now, the teams still have to be seeded... we still have a ways to go.

Just curious, why DE at 4 only, should they finish this one off tonight?

They beat Tonka earlier this year and tied Centennial and have a better record than both of them.

I could understand why those 2 could go higher, but I'd think DE should merit just as much consideration.

Tonka could be seeded anywhere from 2 to 4. But I'm still hesitant to put East ahead of Blaine/Centennial winner since the hounds tied centennial and lost to Blaine.

...plus i like the idea of a Blaine vs Duluth East 2000 state championship rematch! \:D/

Hello! We are leaving out Moorhead! They Just beat Roseau without one of their best players 5-2 They tied Centennial and lost to Jefferson in overtime. Dont tell me that they shouldn't be in consideration of a number 4/5 seed.

Moorhead wont get seeded. Roseau had a weaker than usual team this year. Moorhead hasnt had any big wins against ranked teams. A lot of the seeding has to do with record as well. The spuds are 15-9-3. That doesnt even compare to:

Minnetonka- 20-7
Eden Prairie- 24-3
Blaine- 23-3-1
Centennial- 19-4-4
Edina, East have similar records as well.

In all reality, The Spuds are a slightly better than average team who won in a weak section 8AA.

Plus they don't seed the fifth seed, only the top four. The teams those four play are decided by draw so even if they were the fifth best team they could still play the #1 seed.

East lost to Century, if Century makes it East will have trouble getting a high seed, it's tougher to throw out a game against a tournament team. Best case scenario for East is North beats Century, Cenntenial beats Blaine, and Minnetonka beats Eden Prairie otherwise East is 1-2 against the field with their only win coming against Moorhead who has zero chance of getting seeded.

Correction, East beat Minnetonka 2-0, Moorhead 4-0, and tied Centennial 2-2. I think the East will get either the 3 or the 4 seed. No way Moorhead will get seeded. It will be interesting to see how all the citidiot coaches vote though. Should be a good tourney regardless.

East has a team much like its '98 team. All lines will forecheck you relentlessly, every player can skate well and handle the puck, every line can score, their defensemen are highly skilled, and they have a superstar in Tardy. They could bring Cade Ledingham out of retirement and win. They will be seeded 3 or 4, but it won't matter if they are seeded at all if they keep playing like they have been. This team will be difficult to beat.

This should be a no brainer...

Top 4 seeds belong to...

Edina
Eden Prairie
Duluth East
Winner of Blaine/Centennial

Very simple ma boys...

An Edina / (Blaine/Centennial winner) would be a great Saturday night game.

I figured this out last night after my Spuds one. I had it figured that 3 sections were locks to be seeded...Section2, 5, and 6 . This left Moorhead's only shot was if Elk River upset Duluth East.

Unfortunately that means....

1)Edina
2)Eden Prairie
3)Blaine
4)Duluth East.

Here's hoping we don't draw Edina....yikes!

This is how I'd do it too; I don't think there's really much up for debate.

If Centennial wins, cases can be made for either Centennial or DE at 3. I'm not picky; both teams would get a random opponent in the first round and a very tough one should they win that game.

Even if Century goes, I don't think that East loss will have much of a bearing on the seedings.

I think it should be

1. Edina
2. Centennial/EP
3. EP/Duluth East
4. Duluth East/Blaine

8 game losing streak. I know they're a better team now than they were when that happened, but you can't overlook that.

1. Edina
2. Eden Prairie
3. Duluth East
4. Blaine/Centennial

Here are the proper State seeding, if politics don't get involved. We know the love of Edina with MYFOXHockey.

EP #1 seed. Lost to Edina by a one goal margin. but were #1 in their Sections.
Edina #2 seed. Still were the 2nd seed behind Jefferson
East #3 seed.
Blaine/Cennt the #4 seed.

Bottom line who gets Mayo in the 1st round.

considering their head to head this year, there is no way the seeding committee can justify giving ep the number one seed over edina. however, i hope they do, because we all saw what happened when they got the shaft in section 2AA...

Problem becomes - EP lost twice to Edina this year

And Mayo has been eliminated
