Without looking anything up:

Berglund, Little Falls
Palmquist, SSP
Marshall, Mahtomedi
Schmidt, Cathedral

My guess would be one of those guys...with the nod to Schmidt.

Berglund, Little Falls i'm sure had the most this season, Marshall that a lot too, not sure about Palmquist being that high up there in the points department this season. He's a good defensemen nonetheless.

According to mnhockeyhub,

Berglund-53
Marshall-46
Schmidt-45

Leddy was close to Palmquist and they were in the 30s.

Leddy is still easily the best defensman in the state.

Agreed, just played harder competition on a team that has a different defensive and offensive style.

If you haven't seen Ben Marshall play yet, I would recommend watching Mathomedi's game against Cathedral because he is much better than most people realize. Not as good as Leddy right now, but the gap is not very wide by any means. Eerily similar to Aaron Ness.

It's not all about points - some of the best D don't have many, but they play solid, shut down defense.

Exactly.... So many people are focused in on points, but points are just a small piece of what makes a great player.

Agreed! Not quite the vision that Ness had but a little more speed, IMO.

I'd have to agree too. Marshall shows several attributes of Ness, and is only a sophomore. Great speed and quickness, shifty play, and great hand speed.

I've seen Marshall play once. I didn't know about Ben when I fist saw him and he really impressed me. It will be fun to watch him play next year.

Ness had good speed...so this guy has to be fast?

When I saw him play at the beginning of this year he did not look as fast as Ness.

According to the link below, Leddy has 9 goals and 31 helpers. EPs power ranking was one of the toughest in the state. Click under AA guide and look at Eden Prairie.

Actually a great website with reviews of all teams in the tournament, very good reading.
