I've heard rumors about this, but is it true? I find it kind of hard to believe especially with a new school coming in.

The new school possibly has part to do with it, if it's true. I know nothing about it first hand, but if they gave their 3 schools geographically to the Classic Lake to that conference there would be two really good conference and free up games for the Lake in many sports.

If there is a new school coming in who would it be? The Lake is already geographically spread pretty far.

Thanks Lee. I wonder why the Classic Lake would want to do this to themselves. Such a great conference providing them amazing opportunities in all sports.

Is there a limit to teams in a conference? Seems odd they have 11 schools and will be taking a 12th. Seems like a simple solution for the two conferences to me...

The classic lake has only five teams and Armstrong is leaving. They should go back to the way it used to be with a lake red and a lake blue and try to divide the two geographically. I think the main concern is there would be too many football powerhouses if you were to put Edina, Eden Prairie, and Wayzata in the same conference.

Technically, Armstrong is not "leaving," Armstrong was booted out of the conference by the other four schools, thus bringing the number to four and forcing the Classic Lake to disband.

the easy thing to do would be for the Lake to absorb the four remaining schools and go to two eight-team divisions. However, there are some competitive balance issues that would be created (Chaska vs. Minnetonka-Wayzata-Edina in football for example).

Some of the Dakota County schools in the Lake are supposedly are looking at forming a Dakota County Conference, possibly bringing in Farmington or Hastings into the fold.

After a lot of talk about this in January, we haven't heard much of anything. I would imagine they want to resolve this by spring so they can start with 2010-11 scheduling

That would be fine for hockey but about the other sports?
