Alright lets start hearing all those stupid "John Madden" type things that Phil blurts into his mic.

Ugh its already brutal im already getting sick.... thank god im going to the tourny tonight and dont have to listen to this

I love this topic. Every year I hope Stillwater makes it so that I don't have to listen to him.

Honestly, by his standards, that was not a bad period. That is a scary thought.

How about the big guy reffing ths game? He must have went to the school that if someone falls there must be a penalty. Put it away.

Talking about man in the crease. "You can stand in there or skate thru there, but you can be in the crease at any time during the game".

That idiot did a bunch of our games in high school. He's god awful... i see he grew out some facial hair now so he doesn't look like an ogre who hasn't hit puberty yet

I laughed and cried at the same time when I saw this topic. I gotta love the guy cuz he's from my home town, but he needs to think of what he is saying before he says it.

Also, am I the only one who thinks Marshall is overrated?

I think he's a good player, and you have to understand he's only a soph. He'll improve but he needs to get stronger, much like ness of last year.

It amazes me how much people talk about him. He is a good player but, one person does not make the team. With him hurt right now I imagine if the Zephyrs lose it will be because Marshall was hurt.

I wouldn't say over-rated I would say you see what his weakness is. Just another way too small player for the gophers.

On to others I really feel for St Cloud if they used a roster spot on the kid that was just on.

I hope he is ok. He is so small and he does go down alot due to his size. He needs to get stronger so he doesn't get knocked around as much. Going to Juniors will definitely help him.

I would put my money down on him getting his rear end handed to him within the first 5 games he plays in Juniors, he is very hotheaded, and cheap from what I have seen.

Yes, but none of us are getting paid to do color for the games. I hate it when people are like "you wouldn't do any better at . . ." He's the one doing the game, not some amateur on a message board. If he's been hired to do something, he should be good at it, and the fact of the matter is, he is not!

I guess I hadn't noticed that Housley was bad..

They should get Pat Somerall, John Madden, and Doug Woog to do the commentary. I wouldn't even have to see the games then. Just put the camera on them and you have a gold mine for ratings... Man that'd be entertaining.

For anyone saying Marshall is over rated, too small, etc.. The kid is a sophomore. I've seen several players that hit growth spurts as Juniors and Seniors and become fantastic players because the skill they already have gets accompanied by size.

However, if he doesn't get bigger, he can still be an outstanding D1 player because that level of hockey still depends on speed and skill. Want proof of that? Two words. Marty Sertich.

It seems when ever they start talking about a team they always bring up a certain player on the team...like every time they mention eden praire you always hear about nick leddy or edina they always bring up anders lee or marshall everson, duluth east they always talk about how strong they are on the blue line and derek forbort,etc. So ben marshalls name being brought up alot is nothing new.

A good observation. I hadn't been thinking of it until you mentioned this, but it is almost time for the annual Lou Nanne man-crash to manifest itself on TV. One thing that's interesting this year is that it is not completely clear who is at the top of his crush-list. Probably Leddy since he just won metro player of the year. But there could be a few other contenders. Last year, it was pretty obvious going in that it was going to be Ness-this, Ness-that all weekend long, whether his team was playing or not.
