Who is best at the defensive trade in the 94 age group? Who can hit, pass, and rocket up the ice without looking back?

From the 94 Central Scouting thread:

Why all the interest in Kortum? Are you a friend/relative of his?

Everyone tells me Seth Jones is the top 94 defenseman anywhere.

Kortum is a girl and not a '94. Get her off of the list.
I can't believe she would come on this board and try to promote herself after winning Ms. MN Hockey.
Shameless!

No, but you seem pretty intent on pimping Kortum, and did it in a couple of different threads in quick fashion. Which means you are either him or someone close to him (teammate, friend, brother, sister, etc.).
Let me guess, this Kortum kid plays for one of the three 94 AAA teams in your poll thread...correct?

That's cool, man. If you want to give props to your friend, go right ahead..just be up front about it, that's all.

Some names that your missing from this list:
Jonah Johnson Hill Murray
Andy Herlofsky Hill Murray
Jordan Freberg Maple Grove
Just to name a few.
O-Town: No one know who Seth Jones is unless your from Colorado or Texas. (The AAA teams Jones has played on). I think this thread was referring to Minnesota Kids.

Understood. It just seemed like the initial post was fishing for validation that someone is a great player. (The Kortum kid perhaps?) Anyway, you know how there's always someone with more money than you? There's always someone better at hockey.
Speculating on a short list of kids from the Minneapolis suburbs is hardly complete. Figured I'd toss in a name of a kid that has earned heaps of praise at the national level. Is he better than all the Minnesota kids? I have no idea.
I suspect half the "who is the best" threads are started by kids hoping their buddy's name comes up.

O-town,
Just got back from the National tournament. Your guy Seth Jones was very good, but not the best in the tournament. He is 6-3 and growing (popeye is 6-7 so who knows how big he'll be). He didn't dominate with his size though, he's more of a finesse D-man. The kid in this age group that's tops is a kid TROUPA out of Detroit Compuware. If you're an agent, go sign this kid today. Just a mean gritty kid with a cannon from the point. THere wasn't a Bantam A defenseman in Minnesota we played this year that was even close to this kid. Colorado had a 6-4 kid Stoick on D that was a beast as well, they also have a player Cleland that was a stud on D. I don't know that any of the Minnesota top D 94's would be in front of any of these guys. The reality is that this age group outside of Minnesota is loaded and very deep.

Your poll is far too metrocentric. The Forbort kid out of east should be added to your list. Very good 1994 defensemen. Jake Bischoff (nice player) did not play a lot of defense for Grand Rapids in 2008-2009 so it would be tough to rank him as a defensemen and size dinged him a bit this season.

This poll was created by a kid fishing for Jimmy Kortum fans.
I see

I get it muckandgrind. That is too bad too as most kids with Kortum's ability simply let their play on the ice do the talking thus no need to front their ability on a message board.
