state tournament banquets

anyone know who is the key speaker for any of the tournaments. I know if the past that have had some wonderful speakers for the players.

And some not so wonderful ones like the Pee Wee A that got stood up last year leaving the tourney organizers to tap dance through the program.
Common etiquette at a Banquet

Rob McClanahan was the guest speaker this year at the peewee banquet and did a fantastic job. The only thing that bothered me was the players from one team that were talking the whole time he was speaking. He even went so far as to tell them to listen. They stopped for about 10 seconds then proceeded to talk to each other with their backs turned to him.

What i want to know is why are there kids disrespecting Rob McClanahan? I mean the guy has a gold medal and beat the Soviets. Do they not realize he's a legend. I know I would be staring in disbelief of seeing him.

I'm not sure why, It was very disturbing to the ones trying to listen. These were not out-state kids, I'm sure they know the man what a legend he is.

Actually, it was an outstate table, but he was looking at the entire player section when he said it. Let's not blow this out of proportion.
On a positive note, The Armstrong/Cooper Association did a great job planning this event and made it a special night for the players.

Yes the Armstrong Cooper Association did do a wonderful job with the banquet. Regardless of what team it was it was just plain RUDE.

McClannahan was a class act and the Armstrong/Cooper people really did a nice job making the event fun for the kids.
