Has anyone gone to this father and son hockey camp?

just curious how it is and what the experience was like.

Was it worth the money?

I went there and really had a great time with my 10 year old. It was the first time that we were both students and expected to participate equally and as a team during an organized camp. He still talks about it, wants to go again. From my viewpoint, it was an incredible opportunity to get away and play with my son.

The games were a blast for both my son and me. I did not grow up playing hockey, so this was as much fun for me as it was for my son.

Downside - Shattuck in August is hot and miserable in the dorms that do not have AC. Bring a very nice fan. Perhaps they have AC rooms now...but I doubt it.

If you go to Faribault try Basileos pizzeria on 4th street....best thin crust pizza i have ever had.

Agree with Shiloh.

Good hockey experience for players and dads. When we attended Darren Pang (the Panger) was the goalie instructor along with Jordan Parise. They gave great advice to the young goalies.

In the evening the dads would play a pickup game with the counselors and instructors. That year had the Eaves boys and the Parise boys, plus several other Shattuck, and USDT players. Outside of scoring in HS, it was a big deal to me to score on Jordan Parise with a sick move!

Finally, the locker room post-game was the best. Every night Panger would have pizza and beer ordered up and waiting for the dads. He had the funniest stories to tell about his days in the NHL.
