I don't put much stock in rankings, but please explain to me how Stillwater can still be ranked #2 when they have lost to #8 HM and #15 Hastings?

please explain to me how Edina is rated higher than Roseau when they just played a couple of weeks ago and the Rams won 2-1. I saw the game and it was no fluke--the Rams are a very good team as is Edina but I thought if you beat somebody that does have some consequences doesn't it?

What happened to 16-20 on A and AA

Unfortunately early this am I pulled this from the pioneer press site and they only had the top 15 in each class listed as is common for lph to only release the top 15 with full 20 in lph itself. Years ago the papers only listed top 10 and then had 5 "teams to watch" which were essentially 11 to 15 in the lph ranking but now they just list 1 to 15

Stillwater 5 Roseville 3 That is the reason that Stillwater still carries a #2 ranking. Rankings are base a a teams whole body of work not just one game. Stillwater is a solid team and anybody can have a not so great night and take a lose. As for Edina and Roseau it was a close game and the ranking could have gone either way. The only ranking that matters is who is number 1 at the end of the season.

Northfan, LPH rankings are based on a sample of opinions. The rankings have nothing to do with facts. IMO KRACH or QRF are better measures because they eliminate bias.

I realize it's still not possible, but it would be nice to see these rankings separated by sections some how, meaning that two, or even four, teams from the same section can't possibly all make it to state, there fore, cannot possibly end up both ranked in the top 8 in the end. Silly state we live in, not having it possible for all of the top 10 teams having a chance to make state.
