Don't know of any Bantams who have moved up to JV, but do know of a few who have moved up to varsity.

So anyone know who lost guys?
Two top teams that i heard might are Edina and Woodbury? What about lakeville south, heard they had a guy go as well? Lets hear about it, this will impact the rankings next week I am sure.

I heard Edina had kids trying out...that's different that losing them. We'll see how it all shakes out this weekend, i'm sure by Monday everyone should know where they stand.

Fasching from AV is a beast, he'll be fun to watch.

they took 18 skaters but not 3 goalies, was that unexpected?

Not quite. The goalie never registered for White Bear hockey. He took the leap of faith and tried out for Hill.

Edina may have lost 3 skaters to schools in the area. If they did will they add skaters from the B team to have 15? Or will D6 give them exemption?

I heard the same, 2 to BSM and one to EHS.

Obviously.... ..... Labosky and Moore are rostered with BSM according to their website. I guess that means Reno is moving up to EHS. Needless to say, these are HUGE losses to overcome for the Bantam team.

Interesting decision if Lobasky and Moore decide to leave the Edina Bantam A team for Benilde. Does anyone know if they've accepted the spots? Also an interesting decision by the Benilde coach to take these two ninth graders, with Bantam eligibility, on a varsity team that had 60 players tryout. They're nice Bantam A players but not good varsity players as of today. Let's say a sophomore or two, even a junior, shows well in early JV games and are brought up. The weakest two players go down. Now the 9th graders are JV. Do you suppose they were guaranteed varsity spots? Time will tell but wierd call all around in my opinion.

I think they must've "accepted" the spots, consdering that they have been stricken from the Edina Bantam A roster.

I agree with you on your points....especially given how strong their Bantam team is. If I'm a HS coach, I think I would tell these two to go back and play their last season of Bantam hockey and try to win another championship with that group. They will play a lot more games and get a ton more ice time playing with, and against, the top competition in the state. If they were playing on a weak Bantam A team in a small association, then I could understand the desire to jump to the next level sooner rather than later..

I'm not sure why these players are in such a hurry to jump to the HS level. They are really good players, for sure. But, considering the Bantam option, what's the rush?

Agreed, however if they can help the team and want to play varsity it makes sense to take them. On another note, when are Bantams who move up declared ineligible for BA? Is it after they are rostered or after their first official game? I ask because there are some scrimmages this weekend, which are not considered games. Is it possible to head back to bantams?

Here's another wierd one. Johnny Austin, 8th grader from Edina PWA?, named to Blake varsity. Nice player but very small. Indication that Blake doesn't have much this year.

If a Bantam age player participates in a HS scrimmage or game they become ineligible for Youth hockey.
