I have said many times off the ice that WBL will struggle to win games unless it scores more than 4 goals versus these top teams. Last year's Centennial games was like 5-4 or 6-5 or something...mnpuckster wrote:As much as I'd like to see WBL win this game, I dont think they can match up with STA right now. Although they beat Centennial despite being outplayed last year in the Schwanns quarters, I dont see this happening against the Cadets. S
And there folks is another WBL Youth program goalie defection to another private.Goldfishdude wrote:I have said many times off the ice that WBL will struggle to win games unless it scores more than 4 goals versus these top teams. STA's Christian Isackson was injured during the Minnetonka game, and it is not reported yet the extent. It will be huge if he can't go vs WBL. STA was controlling Tonka until he left the game.
STA has 5 players with as many or more points than WBL's leading scorer, Brandon Wahlin.
Kurt Altrichter, STA's touted goalie, has had some struggles this year giving up 5 goals vs Tartan and 4 vs Tonka when approaching 30 shots, so the Bears will need to put some pressure on with quality shots.
Since I get ridiculed for opinions based on facts:
Bears 8 STA 0
Oh no, Body... I have it right.. WBL 8 STA 0.... That's my prediction..BodyShots wrote:And there folks is another WBL Youth program goalie defection to another private.Goldfishdude wrote:I have said many times off the ice that WBL will struggle to win games unless it scores more than 4 goals versus these top teams. GFD, I think you might have the teams listed backwards, or is it the scores? Although WBL has been successful in the past few years with the first round of the Schwan Cup.

The coaching staff has requested more positiveness from me - ERRR "questions" me as to how I show some negative commentary ... Of course, the best way for me to be positive and for me to shut up is to not ASK me to shut up, but to shut me up by winning the games they're supposed to - like versus Stillwater....BodyShots wrote:I want the old Goldfishdude back!Goldfishdude wrote:Oh no, Body... How many of those 6 goals were scored by WBL's first line, which has all graduated. Probably 3 or 4.Goldfishdude wrote:I have said many times off the ice that WBL will struggle to win games unless it scores more than 4 goals versus these top teams. I don't understand your point, Mnhock!!! This is a new team!!!! Coming off a huge win vs Stillwater!!!!
Give GFD some leeway. He's trying to be positive.Pioneerprideguy wrote:Times are tough when you are referring to a win over Stillwater as "Huge".
There may not be a bigger fan of Brandon, other than his family, than I am.. Brandon knows it.. His dad knows it.PoniesDad45 wrote:How is Wahlin doing this year on the team? I know his grandpa and his uncle (I haven't seen them since the season started). I've heard good things about him over the years.
Yeah... Pioneerprideguy!!! Take it easy on me!!! Can't we all just be winners by participation??BodyShots wrote:Give GFD some leeway. He's trying to be positive.Pioneerprideguy wrote:Times are tough when you are referring to a win over Stillwater as "Huge".
Pioneerprideguy, thank you for the well wishes, and best of holidays to you as well.... remember the faith that is taught at your school during this time... It's not about the presents.... It's about the manger..... or presents...Pioneerprideguy wrote:I think it's a little early for the eggnogg, but I like your style! Happy Holidays to ya, GFD.
Sounds like he's doing great, glad to hear it. I worked with his grandpa for a short time before he retired and I know his uncle from Woodbury. Very nice family.Goldfishdude wrote:There may not be a bigger fan of Brandon, other than his family, than I am.. Brandon knows it.. Therefore, I am not afraid to tell Brandon what he needs to work on (which I don't have to)... or his effort... or the fact that I am proud of how he has matured on the ice. I also feel, because of my respect for his father, that if I have something to say, I will say it, and Jerry and I will have discussions from time to time.
As a result, I also may be harder on him as an outsider, because it's the quality kids that have talent that you need to kick in the rear sometimes, when you think the ego is getting out of control or if he may be "resting on his laurels", to push them harder to maximize their efforts and successes.. I do that out of coach instincts.
The relationship between he and Max Birkinbine is as good as you can get on ice... Wolter's skills feed off and compliment these guys perfectly. THAT'S why I am hard on these guys, because I know what they are capable of nightly.
If anything, I think Brandon has a tendency to be a little too unselfish, and that is something I have had conversations with his father on, that he needs to take more shots on 2 on 1s, with the intent of Birki and Wolter looking for rebounds.
He has great imagination, can snipe with the best of them from the circles in... has great hands.... has exceptional feet and balance... and good speed with great elusiveness... And.... is probably more dangerous as a penalty killer than 5 on 5...
