Should be a close game. What are your thoughts?

I'm glad to see Virginia upped their schedule this season. No more Wadena and Ely. The Zephyrs have a good squad and this should be a good test for both teams.
Zephyrs-5
Devils-4

Two good teams, if the Devils bring it , could come away with a win, if they don't show up could be a long night for the Blue Devils.

An interesting note...
Mahtomedi will be playing at 6:00 the night before at the X in the Schwan Cup Silver championship against a very tough Breck team. They then have to sleep and travel 200 miles on a bus for a 3:15 game the next day. Will they have their legs against a team that typically plays very well at home?

PuckRanger's point is valid. They should've tied Blake on purpose and lost in OT so they would have some rest...

This should be quite a game. For Virginia it will be sort of a statement game to see how they will stack up with one of the better single A teams. Both clubs have a stake in this one for some ranking bragging rights in single A. Should be a great game to take in. Mahtomedi will have to suck it up just a bit after the the loss to Breck last night. Fresh legs for Virginia should favor the Blue Devils by a goal at home. Who starts in net for Virginia tonight?

Mhyre will be in nets for Virginia. They are rotating the 2 goalies.

Has it been reported??? I agree with Puckranger.... I think the emotion will be gone from Mahtomedi, and they will be flat...
After further review, it looks like it's being reported Mahtomedi wins 5-2... Solid effort..

Any details on the game from people who where there? Last I heard it was 1-1 in the first period.

virginia lost 5-2. how is virginia ranked 6th in state? I think they are alittle overrated. Loosing 5-2 is pretty bad when Mahtomedi played yesterday and today had to ride a bus for 250 miles and then played afternoon game. That shows they don't deserve to be ranked 6th!

Ok so they lost to the #5 team in Class A so you can make the argument they aren't a top 5 team but I still think as of now there top 10 team. I don't have any details of how the game was stats wise such as shots, special teams, time on attack etc. so I'm not jumping to any conclusions on the game and Virginia's performance.

The shots were 40-40 I believe... Sawyer Marshall with 38 saves.. hendrickson from Virginia 1 G (16th) and 1 A, Charlie Adams with the hat trick (12), Zurn (11)

you're just mad because Hibbing isn't ranked at all!
It was a very close game and there was an EMPTY NET GOAL at the end the shots were even. Virginia's depth just hurt them in the third.

Coming into the season everyone was saying Virginia's depth would be their weakness and by the sounds of it they played well and the score really doesn't tell the whole story.

Mahtomedi doesnt have much depth either. Mahtomedi has one good line and ben marshall at d. Virginia has one good line also.

This game was no contest. Mahtomedi dominated the majority of the game and was by far the better team.
