Prediction, and what do the ponies need to do???

Since you authored this thread, I will follow in your shadow.
It's simple.
Ponies need to kkkkkkkkkkick some butt!!
As of now, while Cretin sits atop of the SEC, just about every team seems to have parity and balance, and blowouts are few and far between, and anything can happen.
This is two pretty evenly matched squads in which I still feel the Ponies have a little more offensive punch versus what the stats represent (because of some of the opponents played thus far), and MV has the scale tipped slightly in its favor for goaltending.
However, MV's Culver is proving to me to be a big-game goalie. He doesn't appear as focused in games versus opponents like Roseville, but he will respond and keep his squad in games vs Woodbury and WBL.
It will be up to Housley and the Ponies to be aware of the fact that if Culver gives up a goal or two early, that they will need to pound the net.
This should be a pretty close game and will come down to the final 3 minutes in which I will give the Ponies a 3-2 victory.

Talked to a few pony parents today. They are pissed about the tie last night and are fired up to play tonightl. Did anyone see Mogren last night for the Ponies? kids got to be one of the best junior defenders in the state even with a bum shoulder. Thats beside the point, Ponies come out firing and take this one.
Stillwater-5
MV-2

Should be quite interesting to see the PARENTS on the ice tonight.

Stillwater gets pissed, they take a punch of penalties.

Since when is 5-2 a spanking?
They have the potential just ask Roseville.
Big fact MV is 0-3-1 on the road and 5-1-1 at home all games have been close. 6 games decided by 1 goal, with 1 game a 7-1 win over Irondale. So take that win for what it's worth.
Stillwater scores first 5-2 = Ponies
MV scores first 2-2 or 3-2 = Ponies

That is exactly my point. I think this team is starting to realize that one single player will not win them games. When this team wants to come together and play like a team they can beat anyone in the conference. They played terrible in the first period agaisnt FL, in the second they started to come together and dominate, just like the roseville game. This team can do a lot more then people think.

Well as bad as we want to see housley throw on the skates again we can't... I should have worded that differently, I meant that I talked to the parents and they said Housley and the boys are fired up. This one could be similiar to the roseville game on FSN, but thats just a hunch.

Are you kidding me. Sorry, I did not see the Forest Lake Game or any Stillwater game since the Schwans Cup. But seriously, one of the best in D in the state? Watch the attitude. There is a lot more to this game then what you do when you have the puck.

If your not at the games then you shouldn't say anything. The other team doesn't score when Mogrens on the ice. The play he made on a Forest Lake break away was unreal. I said one of the best Junior Defenders. He has a heart too, he has had shoulder problems for the whole season yet comes out game after game and pounds kids. He is great to watch.

5-2 Ponies, and yes Kyle Mogren is a very solid defensemen who doesn't get talked about much. The kid sees the ice as well as anybody, has a great shot and when it is needed, he can put a kid on the ice. Look for Kyle to make some noise later on and in his senior year.

shots were 32 - 14 in favor of the ponies an empty netter at the end for the ponies Culver stood on his head the 2nd period to keep the Stangs in it ponies out shot them 14 - 1 in the 2nd a pp goal put them up 3-1 early in the 3rd and that was all she wrote MV jammed one in late in the 3rd but too little too late

For a WBLer that I am, I have been riding that Culver bandwagon... It's a disappointing effort for the "Stangs to get 14 measly shots, but credit the defensive effort by Stillwater. That effort is what I have been expecting from Day 1, and you can't argue with getting 32 shots.
I have always been a fan of lopsided play, in which one goalie is standing on his head and almost leading to the win.

I was told MV had a goal taken away with just seconds left in the first which would have put them up 2-1. MV will have to find a way to get more pucks to the net. They can not continue to get out shot bad every game and expect to win. Hang around maybe but that doesn't cut it.

Yah an early whistle and the puck was still in the air. Brutal call but I don't know if it would have mattered Stillwater was playing pretty well tonight, especially on the defensive side.
MV VS STILLWATER

well it looks like that the Ponies out worked them. Definitly more offensive power>>>>>>>> 1st period was fairly even BUT the PONIES got their groov on in the 2nd,, the MV goalie kept them in it in the 2nd and the 3rd (he had some incredible saves in both per.) yes the whistle was early and MV would have had a goal and maybe changed thinges BUT Stillwater OWNED the rink after the 1st per. The MV goalie did an outstanding job but,,,, he cant score .. the team needs more goals...hopefully they get Bradley back soon!!! The Stangs have a chance once the team Gells
