Just wondering what team people think will come out of this section this year.

Anyone know anything about Mora? I'm from there, but I dont really know too much except that they are a pretty young team, and they did not do to well last season. How does this season look for them?

Another will begin

RL, don't be too hard on the young lad. I would guess that there will be a couple of false starts before a good thread will begin. The old thread that you sent him to was getting full of kids posturing and getting all silly in what they were saying. Once the season really starts, a thread will begin where the folks who really care will start talking, and then we'll have some fun.

To answer our young buck's question... Mora just isn't going to be there my friend. I think it's a pretty solid feeling that there are four teams with a shot out of 2A:

Duluth Marshall
St. Cloud Cathedral
Duluth Denfield
Sauk Rapids

Any one of these four have a legitimate shot, and I only put them in the order I think they finished last season. My guess is it will be between the top two, but really, they are all going to be tough..

I added the wink emotion ( ) so it wouldn't sound so harsh . My bad.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I should have went back and found the old thread, just slipped my mind. I would'nt mind seeing Duluth Marshall in the tourney again this year. Will Marshall be one of the top teams in state this year?

Marshall has a good chance of going back to state. Even though they lost a few good players from last year, they have guys to step it up for this year. The same goalie and top line for defense is coming back. And there are few forwards that were important last year that will be back. Another important thing for DM is team chemistry, not just talent. Like the 2004 team, had a lot of talent but not the chemistry, and did not make it to state. Last years team had it which helped them go as far as they did, and this year DM will have talent and the chemistry again which could help them get to state. And DM could easily be one of the top teams in state. But i guess we can just all wait and see what happens!

This section could be pretty close this year!

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ltopper at: 10/17/05 11:16 am

Although DM is one of the favorites out of this section, I wouldnt jump to fast in saying that they will take it. We will just have to wait and see what the season has to unfold.

2Ahockeyoldtimer,

Crandall made a difference for your team when he was an 8th grader, right? But is Cathedral pulling up an 8th grader every year now? Can you tell me, are their numbers hurting?

SCC 8th grader

The Schmitt kid is the first 8th grader since Crandall. Yeah, Crandall made a difference, and Schmitt will too. If you want to know the real reason Schmitt's going up, look at the "2 A teams" thread above (that was moved to the youth hockey section). St. Cloud youth hockey is trying to become a Tech feeder program, and the rest of the kids are left to flounder.

Oh man.... I would venture a guess that this move will prove to be a huge mistake on the part of SCYHA.

Maybe I missed something, but Denfelds top scorer went to one their section rivals.
It seemed that with most of the scoring from last year coming back, Denfled was poised to compete this year

Losing schmiDt will definately cause problems to SCTYHA, but it definately can't hurt SCC. Schmidt will be a top line player and a difference maker for sure.

But, back to Crandell being a difference maker right away. Its true, he was, but SCC had a lot more talent back then than they have now. Are they asking more of schmidt than they asked of crandell?

I think if this guy works hard and stays focused on school and hockey, his future will be the brightest out of central minnesota in a long time. That's IF he stays focused and doesn't stray to far from the right tracks.
2A

sCC numbers

by 2AhockeyOldTimer
I don't think SCC is having problems with numbers. When I played, people thought cuts were going to be made. The JV (we all know who that is) Feel Good Association, Inc. made cuts impossible. Too many skaters has been SCC's problem in recent years, not lack of numbers.
2A

New Players

Say 2A... is it true that Corey is going to come out and play this year for SCC.. cause if he does, he could be a great addition to the team. He is very fast and has really quick hands. Tell me what you think.

He steals some serious games from the other team, at least at the youth leve.
2A
