Minnetonka (14-0) @ Moorhead (5-5-2) 1-16-10 7:30pm

Moorhead has been playing some good teams but is 1-4-2 in their last 7 games. A win on Saturday night would be great for their rankings and confidence. Maybe the Spuds will gain the edge after the Skippers have to travel 225 miles to play this game.
Good luck to both teams.

The long bus ride for Minnetonka won't be enough for the Spuds to pull off the upset, assuming Minnetonka is as good as advertised (and I have no reason to believe they aren't). The Spuds will need the Minnetonka bus to break down on the way.
After watching the Spuds and Wayzata last Saturday, I've come to the conclusion that this could quite possibly be the worst passing Spuds team I've seen since I became a Spuds fan back in the early 90's. Not so much that the passes are off the mark, it's more that the guys have the puck bounce off their sticks more than I've ever seen. It's not just one player either, it's the whole team. I couldn't count the number of botched passes in that game. Morinville should have them doing nothing but working on passing drills every day in practice this week.
Having said that, I will still be at the game, hoping for a monumental upset but not expecting one. I'm also looking forward to seeing this Minnetonka team too.

Tonka finally has some time off before this game and will be looking to keep the train rolling as they head into conf play. This is also one of the weaker Spud teams in recent history
I'll take Tonka 7-1

When teams travel like this, how much time do they give themselves? Do they spend the night in Moorhead so they're fresh, get there an hour before the JV game, or what?

Their plane leaves at 9:30 on Sat morning. Shouldn't have much of effect.

Yep, the team stretch humvee is on the fritz, so they're forced to fly this time.

Good one! Actually I doubt they're even spending a night there as the schedule is probably leave Mtka Sat around 9am, stop for lunch and a break on the way, get to Moorhead 2-3:00pm JV plays at 5:30 and Varsity at 7:30pm and then shower and back on the bus by 10:30pm for trip home.
I'm just guessing at the schedule above but school districts aren't keen on paying for hotels unless truly necessary.

I live there and have kids in the schools who play sports so unless the parents are footing the extra bill (which wouldn't be unheard of) I doubt there's a hotel stay. Now if we were talking EP or Wayzata I could understand the confussion
