4 hat tricks in 5 games

Jason Rein of shakopee is off to an amazing season. He has 20 pts in 5 games. Huth and Simon are also off to a great start. The three together already have over 50 points. That is awesome. rein last year was 30 lbs overweight. He came into this season in shape. He is bigger, faster and stronger and his numbers show it. I know all you shakopee haters think they they may not have played anyone and I know that may be true, but to score four hat tricks against anyone is an impressive start in your first five games of the season.

Huth looked good in the Elite II league this fall for section 6. I does not suprise me that he also is off to a good start.

I don't know if I'd call Mound a "nobody", they usually have a decent team. Their record may not reflect that, but I think they've had some strong opponents thus far.

I grew up with the Huth family and played on his brothers line in high school. It took Chris longer to find his groove than his brother. The three os Rein, Huth, and Simon I think all have a chance to continue playing hockey at some level next year.

hockplaya22-

I'll call Shakopee a tough opponent just to make you happy. Their top five players are very good - maybe good enough to get them back to state. We'll have to see how they progress through the season.

Also Shakopee goaltender Rob Kaufenberg worked extremely hard this summer to improve his game. He did improve a ton but still has his size against him. Every Sunday Rob would skate with some shakopee and holy angels kids who would just shoot on him. Bariball would attend every session. Rob put in the hard work and I think that will also help shakopee.

Give me a break, this is a typical shokopee schedule, play crappie teams early so your record looks good going into conference play, and then they will be below .500 losing to teams like holy angels, red wing and new prague.

New Prague

New Prague is terrible and they always will be. I will give you that they will probably get swept by red wing and holy angels, but will finish third in the conference. Even with Ambroz New Prague still could not beat shakopee when it counted. Also Ole is not playing anywhere. He goes to the U of M and I think he may play club. He really wasn't that good anyways he just got hot at the right time. Don't get me wrong he was good but not good enough to play after high school.

Shakopee so far.. the boys are doing a great job.

And.. to top that..

Goaltending - Robb Kaufenberg's the 4th top goalie thus far.

State Scoring Leaders...
1) Jason Rein with 13 goals and 7 assists.
2) Chris Huth with 9 goals and 7 assists.
..
..
..
6) Calvin Simon with 7 goals and 7 assists.
..
..
..
..
..
12) Jake Weinzierl with 3 goals and 7 assists.

I honestly don't think Jason will have a problem with staying at top.

Seriously though, not a bad start at all for Shakopee. <img src=

Shakopee is much stronger than most are giving them credit. They do have very solid 2 lines of forwards and good - if somewhat inconsistent goal tending. Honestly tho the scoring totals don't mean much given their competition thus far. Their D is not that deep and could give them problems with stronger teams in the conference - AHA, RW, Northfield.

They have the advantage of playing in the weakest section so they have a good chance of repeating their appearance last year.

I have said in the past that Shakopee will be a tough oppoment. I though Ole played really well last year and yes he did get hot at the right time. I give Shakopee some credit, they will be a tough school when their numbers catch up.
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

hocplaya22 is right, Ole is attending school at the U, he always was a smart kid, and a good businessmen. He will make a lot of money one day. I think after high school his main goal was not to play hockey, although i personally think he could have played junior a, and if he would have gotten better, maybe a d-1 team...

i am surprised that if these kids truly are good (or if it is only because they have played very weak teams) that HOLY ANGELS missed picking these kids up! that is shocking, they usually go for the weaker or struggling programs kids...Minneapolis, Prior Lake, Shakopee, and Hutchinson just to name a few...

Maybe????

Maybe AHA has tried to pick these kids up, but they told them No!!!!! Just like more people in this state should!!!!!!

You guys are so clueless...
AHA does not go out end pick people up.... I go and give a compliment to Shakopee and you turn it in to something else. The Missota conference has been known as a pretty weak conference, everyone knows this. The schools in this conference are growing communities, and when they grow they will have larger numbers of players to chose from. Their youth organizations will produce better players and their local schools will get better. This is a fact. Shakopee is close to this, Farmingtin has been competative. Northfield will be there soon. Red Wing has already proven this. Like the subject says "GETS OLD"...
________________________________
Academy of Holy Angels
2005 GIRLS STATE CHAMPS!
2002 & 2005 BOYS STATE CHAMPS!!
GO STARS!!

"New Prague is terrible and they always will be."

It wasn't that long ago when people were saying that about Shakopee. Now, they've had a nice couple seasons and seem to have things going well. Don't be calling a team terrible when you were only able to beat them by one goal twice last season and lost to the other time.

and as for Section 6A being the weakest, I'll agree they're not the strongest, but 1A and 4A are a lot weaker, though 4A improved with Alex being added to the mix.
