I did not attend any of the games. Fergus Falls beat Princeton in the championship match. According to
www.craigolsonsports.com,
Fergus Falls scored two shorthanded goals in the third period; appearently they were being physical......... not much help, interested to hear anyone's take on the tournement though...

I viewed the Princeton website and Coon Rapids was also in the tournament. I then went to the Coon Rapids website and it looks like North Metro was also registered in the tourney????

North Metro beat Coon Rapids 3-2 in the Third Place game. Nothing I heard from any of the parents of either team.

I would have to believe that if there was such a incident blueliner5 or loveitorleaveit would have been all over this already if CR was involved

Wasn't Princeton. Not a rumor. From what I understand it was the Coon Rapids team. Coach and players out of control. Apparently not the first time.

Really? CR? Looking back 2 years ago this team was on the forum quite frequently in a positive conversation piece, but currently everything has turned sour. Recently, they dismissed 1 of there players off the team due to behavior, obviously they still continue to have the same issues, if what passthepuck99 stated is indeed what happened. Loveitorleaveit or Blueliner5 any insight to this?

I haven't talked to anybody, but now you have my curiousity. I could probably guess which player(s) were involved upon speculation of the incident

Thief River Falls tournament was quite nice. Average teams playing average hockey. The only thing above average was the rink.
Nothing is or was sour at all on the CR team. Things are going quite well. No one has been dismissed, cut or let go - from the team. If you mean by same issues - nice kids having fun - yep - same issues - every day.

Thanks for clearing the air! I was hoping this would be the outcome to a good opponent in District 10

Coach ejected from game. Goalie ejected from tournament. Tournament staff contemplated even allowing this team to play on Sunday. Hmm...sounds like nice kids having fun!

Kids having fun??
I won't go into details out of respect - which CR did not show one bit.
But in all fairness, I don't know who was having more "fun" - the kids, the coaches or the parents.
Were not good choices made by CR all around. Don't sugar-coat this coach - not a class act on CR part.

So what allegedly happened? Or is this some sore loser spouting off?

Pretty much like you have it hear, same stuff out of this team, just a new town to do it in. CR lost to a much better Princeton team on a last second shot. I was told the refs were a bit one sided (as in - Princeton didn't get one penalty CR got 9 or 10). I was told the coach went off on the refs and then went off on the kids in the lockerroom, so the tournament staff called the police.
If
crbantamacoach is really the coach of this team - quit now man - stop giving us some line of BS about how everything is fine. This was a great team a few years ago as peewees and you've ruined them.

But you were not there so you don't really know what happened right? Can anyone who was at the game comment?

loveitorleaveit - Did you see this first hand or are you going off what someone else told you? I have met the CR head coach a few times and these story's do not fit with my meeting with him. Just want to make sure you are reporting factual information.

I wasn't there,
I was told from 5 different parents each with the same story. The kids got shafted by the refs and then blew up after the last second goal. One parent said the coaches from both teams got together after the game. They had some sort of bet going on who would win. Sounds fishy to me.

I was there. When the parents(leaning over glass flipping the refs the bird),coaches and players behave the way they did (goalie screaming obscenities on the ice during the game) you can bet the refs can be one sided. I can't say that they were one sided but at any rate CR is certainly making a name for themselves. As I said before, coach ejected, goalie ejected, police called because of commotion in the locker room after the game. Turns out the CR players were busting up their sticks, so much that they had to share sticks on Sunday. I really feel bad for that handful of well behaved talented kids who have had their season ruined by a coach who can't or won't get control, players who are taking advantage of this and parents who think it's ok.

Thief River Falls admins handled the problems.
The coach has apologized and some of the players are doing written apologies.
The coach is trying to deal with the players the best he can including suspensions.
Perhaps we should let this thread just disappear without further comments.

Passthepuck..Get your facts straight before you make any comments as some of what you stated is not true. You've got some adrenaline going and beginning to exaggerate as I do know some of these parents and have inquired about your allegations

If you got all billigerant with the refs and made a general fool out of yourself wich caused your kid to do the same thing by breaking his $200 stick in a game in which your kid's coach was booted, the goalie booted for swearing like a bar maid.....would you admit it to a friend??? or aquaintance????
I wasn't there...just making a point. I am from a small town in that part of Minnesota that isn't the twin cities, and trust me when I say that the parents of hockey players who live in the TC tend to at times make bad choices when traveling outside of the TC. I would want to have a good time too if we lived in the twin cities and had a weekend where we could get the hell out of the crap hole....and watch hockey to boot.
