If White Bear can beat Holy Angels, Hill-Murray shouldn't have too much trouble with them.

You beat me to it, Body!! That's the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread earlier, but felt it better I not expose Pioneerprideguy to another open shot vs MY FORMER club!

It might be a bad sign we are thinking alike.

H-M's Tim Shaughnessy has been among the top 4 or 5 goalies in the metro area with 1. 68 GAA and .918 save %. I predict he will stop 95% of the shots, as H-M rolls its three lines all over AHA!

AHA's goalie Tommy Burke has only had one solid game against top 10 club although he still gave up 4 goals to Edina, as he hasn't gotten much support in front of him. I feel he will stand on his head facing 35+ shots. Burke did have solid games versus Elk River and East.

H-M 4-1, but the game won't be that close.

HM also beat a Duluth East team Holy Angels lost to.

That being said, Holy Angels is always well coached and has played 5 quality opponents to HM's 3. This should be a close game.

Hill over AHA 6-3. AHA has been disapointing this year. I thought they would have a better year than they have. They need to start gaining some momentum or it's going to be a dissapointing season at that house of Reilly!

Hill-Murray actually beat Holy Angels one time. The score was 9-0 on Nov. 26, 1999. It was the first year that the schedule was expanded from 22 to 25 games. Schools were allowed to play 3 games on Thanksgiving weekend, but they were called exhibition games and did not count in the records. HM played Johnson, Holy Angels and Hastings on Wed, Fri & Sat at Aldrich Arena. They beat Johnson & AHA and lost to Hastings. There were alot of preseason tournaments around the state that weekend. They should go back to that & let schools play 28 games.

AHA wins 3-2. AHA comes to win and the Reiley brothers prove themselves. Hill will get a lot of shots but Burke comes up real big

Because these are two private schools I will throw in my $100 and say AHA will show everyone that they are playing better and will beat HM 5 - 2. I know the score is out there, but AHA is playing a lot better than they were when all you experts commented on their Schwans cup exhibition. I say exhibition because they were not playing well.
Everyone knows that you must be playing your best hockey in the end, after 25 games and not 4 like the Schwans cup. My excellent source told me that the team will be fun to watch at the end of the season. That person knew they would take their bumps and I think AHA is starting to play well.
I have seen HM play and yes, they are a good team but they are also beatable. Watching them at Richfield last week I saw it again. Richfield is not a good team to judge them with, but AHA is not Richfield.

I really like that everyone is taking AHA lightly. Hopefully that continues in sections.

With the exception of their WBL game, Holy Angels hasn't had a bad game yet. Yes, they've lost to two teams Hill has beaten, but that doesn't mean a lot for head to head match ups.

I think Hill's home ice will do a lot for them, but this game should be pretty even.

Well, I can't pick both teams to lose which would be my first choice so I'll go with Hill-Metro 4-2 (EN).

Rumor around town is Polacek, Ablan, and Mcnamara are injured? What is the truth behind that Zamman? Might be tough to beat Hill with only 2 lines, since the third line would consist of 2 Freshman who have not proven themselves against a non conference team, and a sophomore who hasn't played much varsity time.

My take is that Hill will roll over the 2 lines AHA will only play.

If that's the case, would it make more sense to take each of those 3 younger guys and put them on one of the top 3 lines so each line has 2 experienced guys and one non-experienced instead of one line with nothing?

As much as I would like to believe they can do that, I remember 2 years ago when DAnny Mattson pretty much beat them single handedly. He had 3 goals and 2 assists in a 5-4 HA win. Fortunately the Pioneers made up for it by winning the State tournament that year.

I have not heard of any injured players, but if that is the case AHA will have a much harder time. The freshman play anyways, it will be the jv boys that would need to step up. Will see, I am off to Aldrich now.
