Wasn't at the game so I hope it isn't true but I heard that a Parent from Edina threw a Puck at the ref at a Bantam B1 game last night in Braemar with not much time on the clock and goalie pulled. Refs had to stop the game cause two pucks were on the ice with and Edina was able to put their goalie back in after pulling him. The other team ended up winning with an open netter but this is a new one.. 8)

Oops, no more chuck-a-puck at Braemar. Or, does the guy just carry an extra in his pocket.

I heard it was a '99 machine parent and they mistook the ref for Bernie.

Head back under the MM rock. This thread is way over your head and we don't need every thread ruined by you and your Bernie centered posts. It will be years before you should contribute to a Bantam thread if you last that long.

Was it a reserve game puck? Did he throw it from the minor officials' box?

New info but still don't have the full story... minutes left in the game b-ville sent the puck slowly down the ice refs waived off icing (no goalie) Crowd went nuts.. edina picked up the puck behind the net and took it up ice someone in the crowd threw a puck at the ref to stop play... he actually picked up the puck and play went on... bville ended up scoring an empty netter. Just wondering if anyone saw it and whether the parent (or maybe it was a kid)got berated by the crowd..

I wonder if the puck landed right on the center faceoff dot? do you win a prize for that? :D

I am an assistant coach for burnsville. As this was a very intense moment in the game so i wasn't paying attention to the stands, i do remember seeing another puck come out on the ice. Our team cleared the puck and it was rolling on edge down the ice towards the goal. It got to the line right next to the pipe where the goalie piles up a bunch of snow and stopped. The icing was waived off and edina grabbed the puck. I did notice another puck sitting on the ice at this time and the official picked it up and play went on. I am thinking that maybe someone wanted to find a way to stop play? Maybe it fell out of the refs pocket? I didn't see anything fly out onto the ice but i was watching the ACTUAL puck. If it was someone from the stands, that is pretty ridiculous, but the ref did a good job at not letting it affect play.

I'm a player on one of these teams and I honestly didn't even notice it. Like Biscuit said, it was a really intense then so I was just paying attention to the real puck.

ruined it

I really thought this would go somewhere when I posted it.. that is why you verify rumors from Parents. It would have been great fodder for this board had something really gone down as first reported.

Dang, I just missed this one - I walked in to watch the end of this game prior to my son's game. I heard a loud uproar just before I started to watch - must have been due to the icing non-call. If only that concession line wasn't so long . . .

So do we know if Burnsville has a good travel baseball program or not? I thought they threw the puck at Edina parent, but it landed on the ice.

This is my perspective:
there was about 20 seconds left in game. Burnsville got the puck and held it on the boards to waste time. Edina parent didnt want clock to go out so he threw a puck onto the ice trying to get a whistle. Ref picked up puck quickly and play went on. Burnsville brought it out from the corner and scored with 3 seconds left. Puck didnt effect play at all.

A puck???? Hmmm.... maybe he found one in the stands and decided it needed to go back in the rink????
