To whomever it was on the EP side of the stands at BIG tonight "mimicking" the Chaska fans when several trips, hooks, and checks by EP players went uncalled.
How do you feel about yourself now?
I would be embarassed

Hopefully for your sake, your daugher's sake and that of next year's EP team, you grow up between now and then and stop being an embarassment. You have many talented players on your team who deserve better representation in the stands.
Sincerely,
#51 ranked Chaska Stormhawk Fan who is advancing to the Section 2AA Final Game.

I have noticed a significant lack of sportsmanship by the fans this year. Particularly bad was the gang from Eastview, Elk River is always bad. Surprisingly the MTKA folks yell nonsense at the refs practically non-stop. The fans from Edina and Hopkins always seem to be respectful. What gives? It would be interesting to do a study on what makes fans from certain areas pains in the rear. It is embarassing and difficult to tolerate when you are trying to watch a game. I try to sit as far away from the offenders as possible. I guess that is all you can do

Every team has their share, and to say Edina and Hopkins are respectful is not completely true. I know from where I was standing some of the things that Edina fans were yelling was not so nice. And as far as the Hopkins fans, they have a few that like to go to the opposing side and antagonize the fans, That was not real classy.

Let's face it, I bet there are not many teams that don't have fans that express their opinoin during a game. I was told Irondale had a couple of calls go there way due the fans speaking up in the Blaine game.

Overall I agree with you on your statement but as far as the "Edina fans" not yelling nice things I think you were referring to a couple of chants by the student section and not the parents. I thought it was great that there was a good sized group of HS boys at the game. They cheered wildly just like they would at a boys hockey game, which can be a little bit brash for my tastes but I liked their enthusiasm. I would like to see more of the students and other fans at girls' games all year and not just at playoffs.
As far as the Hopkins fans that like to sit in the opposing section, I have also seen it. Its very interesting, just like a hockey agitator role but in the stands. Or maybe it was parents of a transfer student that were confused about where they were supposed to sit?

That EP guy was awesome..! Just show's the Chaska fans are. They do that on every single shift - Always jumping up and down and screaming cause a player gets bumped. I think it's funny..
EP Nations road ended in a very, very sloppy game by both teams. Good luck to the little purple hawks, they are gonna need it against Edina. Do I smell a upset..?

Yes, Superstar, we all know why you think it was funny! You are probably the only one who thought so from what I've heard!
The only thing we smell at this time is sour grapes and the smell appears to be coming from you.
However the game ends up on Friday, Chaska gets to play in it and you don't.
Too bad!
Again, the EP Girls deserve better representation in the stands than what they get from the one bad apple.

They only sour grapes I smell is coming from Chaska. Yeah you won in a sloppy game, Good for you. You seem very, very sour about winning... I guess there is always a first time for everything.
Now, Concentrate on getting the girls ready for your next game. Don't let the bigger, stronger, faster talented girls from Edina get you frustrated. Go get'em Purple hawks!

I've also noticed that bad behavior seems to have increased this year--I thought it was just me. There is very little respect for the officials, and there's more taunting of the players (by adults) than I ever remember. Is this just a sign of the sport becoming more 'big time'? All four teams' fans had their moments last night at Aldrich.
Earlier this season at a varsity game we were standing on the opposition side with some friends and there were like 2 questionable calls in row, and the crowd got out of hand. My 13-year-old tugged on my sleeve and said, "I'm scared dad". I thought she was kidding at first but she wasn't. She didn't think we were going to get assaulted or anything--but it's scary for kids to see adults get angry and out of control over a game. Kids, especially kids who play, always understand that it's a game. She's been in the middle of rowdy student sections and had fun and joined in the taunting and chanting, etc. but that's not what I'm talking about here. We should be so lucky to have student sections chanting bawdy cheers at the games. That part's all in fun.
I'd also like to mention Edina as a model of good behavior. That's not easy to say since we've all grown up supposedly 'hating' them, but their parent and other adult fans are always respectful and behave with class.

Not to dwell on the EP loss last night But......
This is an article that was published last week. I think the problem most people have with EP is the utter arrogance of EP and their fan base. Yes they have always had good teams and yes they played well against Chaska last night....But this EP Nation crap has got to stop....and so do the excuses! I guess they should have been concerned with the 3,4,and 5 seeds!
Eagles are 2AA's No. 2 seed
As expected, the Eden Prairie High School girls hockey team was awarded the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Section 2AA Tournament. Edina received the top seed.
The unexpected is who was seeded three, four and five.
"I guess it's in the eye of beholder," said Eden Prairie Head Coach Tim Morris.
Chaska (10-15) received the No. 3 seed; Prior Lake (14-11) the No. 4; Shakopee (15-8-2) the No. 5. Shakopee defeated Chaska once, Prior Lake twice.
"If we generate some offense and do the job defensively, Edina is a team we can beat," adds Morris. "We'll have to be darn near flawless, but they're beatable."
Translation: Eden Prairie isn't too concerned about the Nos. 3, 4 and 5 seeds.
"We're where I thought we'd be at this time of the year," adds Morris.
Saturday, the Eagles ended their regular season with a 7-0 victory over Apple Valley.
"It's the first time in a long time that we've played an entire game without any letdowns,' said Morris. "We didn't make some of the little mistakes we've made in the past, the kinds of mistakes that cost us goals. And the goals we did score were nice goals off quality shots."
So, if you're only as good as the last game you've played, Eden Prairie appears ready to make a run.
"If everyone plays like we're capable of playing," he said, "we should fare very well."

I thought EP looked flat at first and then I realized that maybe Chaska wanted it more. Chaska’s D played much better than I had seen from them before. It was almost like every time EP got the puck they had these purple jerseys all over them.
Chaska has a fast and tenacious team their tending has struggled this year, otherwise I believe they would have been rated much higher.
But yes, now will come the Green Machine, Chaska lost the first round, is Edina going to take them for granted like EP did?

Sour Grapes, me?
Nope, I can't seem to wipe the smile from my face today!
As for Friday's game, that's the difference between us. I wouldn't dream of "cocking" off about how we're going to dominate and take it all.
Anything can happen!
One thing I do know, Chaska beat EP in 2 out of the 3 match ups. Therefore, I assume that the outcome Friday will be similar to what it would have been had EP played.
But, I guess we'll never know now will we

Edina has to much talent and is very well coached to take a Chaska win for granted. On paper, Edina should smoke Chaska. Emotionally Chaska may have the edge.

seems like your the only one who thought the game was sloppy. According to every other fan I talked to, some not being from chaska, thought it was a well fought battle. Sounds like someone is still a little upset. The only play I found sloppy was the uncalled hooks trips slashes checks, you name it it wasn't called. Yes I saw the person mocking the chaska fans from the ice and they just made a fool of themselves. Gave me a good laugh. I suggest you go read what the Eden Prairie sports writer and EP coach have to say before calling it a "sloppy" game.

I thought it was a well played game, where the sloppyness comes from is beyond me. Oh and and by the way Superstar you're the idiot that was dancing around acting like a fool. All three games vs EP were great this year. Yes the officiating wasn't the best but it didn't change the out come of the game. You should be proud of your girls they had a great year, but not as great as Chaska's

The Superstar wins again..! Getting you people all riled up. It's a great thing too see - Just like the refs getting you people all riled up over nothing - Every shift, every game
And, No, The Superstar is not the one "mickiming" the Chaska Faithful in the out of control act of waving arms and standing up and saying "can you believe that!" on every play that you seem to think should be a penalty - It always makes me laugh - Just play Hockey and let it go. So what if a girl gets knocked around a little bit - get back up and play - as long as they aren't hurt..........Quite crying about it.
Good game..? Yeah - but it was a sloppy good game IMO for the most part. If EP would have won I would have said the same thing - Sloppy win... But, a win is a win - sloppy or not. Just continue to be arrogant and gloat - I have no problem with that. Every now and then a dog finds a bone...
Now you people need to get your kids ready for the game Friday - Good Luck.
EP NATION forever..!

I talked to Chaska fans and EP fans before the game. The impression I got was that EP came into the game worried that they might lose and that Chaska relished the opportunity to beat EP. I came away thinking that if this was indeed the mindset of the two teams, Chaska had a good chance to win.

YES it does! And maybe a 12pack -
We can have a few cocktails and practice the "Chaska Hawks Wave" prior to the Edina game.
Here is out it works: Everybody gets mad and stands up every 2 minutes and waves thier arms in the air and Yells "Oh my Gosh - can you believe that - They pushed my little girl and she fell down - those EP people are so arrogant and cheap!"

SuperStar I'm just curious..... In the prevoius 2 meetings did you see Chaska fans acting up? I was at those games and I did not see any behavior that was out of line. Maybe....just maybe....the officiating was pretty bad. And if you have been around hockey, you know that when calls aren't made, kids retaliate, the game gets out of hand and kids can get hurt.
You lost. Be a gracious loser, set an example and prove to the rest of the world that EP fans are not arrogant, self-rightous, egotistical, over-confident, repugnant fans.
Warm Regards
