Mounds View Girls Hockey

Went to Roseville yesterday and saw a good game between Mounds View and Anoka. The Mustangs I think have a chance at winning the section.

That first line for Mounds View is explosive. And defensively they are solid as well.

Does anyone think the Mustangs will win the section?

This section is a toss-up. My gut feel is Coon Rapids is going to come out of this one. They are on a roll and playing real well. Irondale is not a strong as they think they are. Look at thier Krach Rating.

Irondale had their work cut out against #8 Blaine. This just shows you how tough the Northwest Suburban conference is from "Top to Bottom".
You have to earn your points in this conference.

The only exception would be Maple Grove. But Hirsch got hurt early in the year and she can make a difference. Hope she is doing well.

Anoka is a very young team with very few players that have had playoff experience. They gave up 3 goals very early in the game. ( Unfortunately 2 of the goals were accidently knocked in by own defenders). Coach called a time out to calm the girls down. They Then played a much closer game. I am looking forward to see how they do next year. They only had 2 seniors on the varsity.

See what I'm saying. It's always the defense's fault. :?

I know you weren't slamming anyone and kidding. :) Or am I.

I wasn't blaming anyone. It is a team sport.

Funny you say Maple Grove is the only exception to how tough the Northwest Suburban Conference is, yet you pick Coon Rapids to win this section. I believe Maple Grove swept Coon Rapids this season and I believe one of those wins was in mid January while they were missing Hirsch.

Maple Grove is not the exception. I believe they lost another top player in addition to hirsch in mid December. How many teams could lose 2 top players and still compete in a tough conference the way they did?

Just to Clarify Maple Grove only lost one top kid (Hirsch). The other player who went out was not a top player. From what I have heard the coaches lost some control over there at Maple Grove this year. Could just be a rumor.
