Gigi Marvin becomes a Ram

"Roseau's own Gigi Marvin waves to the crowd while
Natalie Darwitz of Eagan claps in the background."
Photo caption from the Official USA Hockey Womens/Girls Hockey newsletter. A little like Favre in a Vikings jersey, Warriors faithful will have a hard time getting used to it.

People from outside Minnesota don't really understand what a huge mistake that is. I have even seen an article about Dustin Byfuglien of the Chicago Blackhawks saying he was from Roseau which is suburb of the Twin Cities. They don't know and probably don't care.

I think you mean Warroad's own..i believe she played high school in warroad..so as much as you roseau fans would love to claim her as your own..she's not sorry

We should all be proud of Gigi Marvin as Minnesota Hockey Fans. Roseau claims our own outstanding girl hockey players; Lane, Loken etc.. Warroad claims girls from Duluth, Little Falls, Kenora etc.

I think you missed the point but anyway, Gigi is one of the very few players that Warroad can claim as their own.

Get over yourself, it's called open enrollment. People go to play for a winner, and obviously Roseau wasn't their first option. Instead Roseau "jumps up to AA" to play with the "big guys" yet knowing it was there only option to avoid Warroad and getting to a state tournament. Sounds too familiar as the boys did the same thing when Warroad was winning in the mid to late 1990s.

This was a nice thread about Gigi Marvin. Don't be a hater. She promotes girls hockey for Warroad, Minnesota and now the USA.

We'll take her. She's now officially a daughter of Roseau. Suck on that Warroad!

Not quite so fast, she is about as full blooded Warroad as one can possibly get. Family are Marvins (not employed by the Window Factory, it is actually the other side of the family), and played boys youth hockey in Warroad all the way through the system. You already have made everyone up north proud with your accomplishments, but there is one task yet to complete!

Actually yes. Little Falls is combined with Brainerd. But the lure of the Marvin's was too great to play where she learned hockey.
