Do you know when he will be going to CC? I would assume a year or 2 of juniors first

I think he fits right into the CC program. Smaller, but very talented and scoring forward. Good luck.

kid is defineatly a pure goal scorer, much like patrick white. I see him being a solid 2nd line player his junior and senior year. nothing more, nothing less

Not sure if you mean White of the Gophers, but if you are, 9 goals in 34 games is not a natural goal scorer!

Not sure if you are familiar with high school hockey, but he was a pure goal scorer in HS and if you recall he did score four goals in a STATE tournament game, don't know if that constitutes to a pure goal scorer but i think it does. Also 9 goals in 34 games for a kid who plays in the WCHA is not bad. As noted I said SOLID 2nd Liner his junior and senior year. Patrick White is just that. 16 points is nothing to be ashamed of as a 2nd/3rd liner in college hockey. Glad you know your hockey though.

Very good observation bigtimescout. Gopher lack of point production stem from two key area's lack of play makers on the team (just ask Butsy Erickson about playmakers). Lack of Junior level players hurts them as well. Tough league to come into as an 18/19 year old and succeed. The Skalbeck kid will have a better mix of forwards to play with at CC.

Pure goal scores can score at all levels, not just when they are physically superior. I think you could find a better comparison to Skalbeck. White's production in his 3 years at the U are not anything to brag about.

Correction mulefarm no players stats at the U are anything to brag about. You need a healthy mix of play makers, grinders and goal scorers in order to be a great team. Skalbeck will have more balance (mix of players) when he goes to CC and success will follow. You need look no further than Tyler Johnson's stats to figure that out, his success stems from better mix of players.

Skalbeck is nasty, he'll be a great addition to the Tigers line up and definitely another amazing player in the MN connection to CC....Archie might be the closest thing to Marty Sertich CC has seen since he graduated

Not talking about what makes a team. Just stating my opinion on what makes a pure goal scorer. Nothing against White, but I don't think he is a pure goal scorer.

If you have ever been to Colorado Springs, CO you would completely understand. It's Minnesota with mountains --- young, vibrant community --- fantastic college town.

Again, No one is bragging about White's stats, but your comment about pure goal scorers scoring at all levels is completely moronic, how about Dave Spehar. Possibly the greatest goal scorer in HS hockey history? What did he do after HS hockey? Played well at U but NHL? NO, your reasoning of a pure goal scorer would have to mean they are all "NHL superstars"

You called White a pure goal scorer,. I don't think he is. This has nothing to do with NHL superstars or Spehar. What is your definition of a pure goal scorer?

Might be because Lucia is good buddies with Scott Owens and planning on returning to CC one day soon.
