Really hard to say at this point. All will be great teams. All should be great games. It kinda has to do with who gets hot I think. The way it looks, two teams are moving on to state. The top team from each pool plays the second team from the other pool in two state qualifier games. There are all kinds of possibilities. Should be fun to see.

Terrible is a bit extreme, they are in regions afterall.

Fergus is 28-9-1 with wins over Roseau (2), and Brainerd (2) and a big 6-1 win yesterday over Moorhead in the VFW 9th District 3rd place game.

Brainerd is 27-12-0 but it is a bit harder to find some quality wins in their schedule, would have to go with the 3-0 win over Hermantown earlier this year and 3-1 win over Moorhead in January. In districts they did nip Fergus 3-2.

They have a lot of work cut out for themselves. They played Moorhead pretty well this year, dropped a heartbreaker to Andover in a shootout at the early Roseau tournament but have not played Blaine. They are going to have to string together the best three performances of the year to get to Sunday, but it is doable.

Andover has top goalie, he is good enough to steal a game or two by himself. They also have a top defenseman, physical kid. After that it drops off. If the goalie and top D can carry they will get a W or two, if not they have little other opportunity to change the outcome of the game.

Tripped....did you fall into the metalic paint your were sniffing when you posted that jibberish??? He is a fine goalie, but come on. Elks are the 1 seed for a reason. Huskies have the #3 out of D10, just wanted to clarify.

I do like your enthusiasm, but your statements lead me to believe you were huffing just before you typed.

BTW, I am not promoting the Blue Bengal Attack, just saying you are talking crazy talk.

Your definition of top? I don't recall a top goalie or "D"

Fergus Falls just took OT to top Brainerd 4-3. Sometimes you have a rival and you're playing them for the fourth time in a year, stuff doesn't go so smooth in the regional game..

Elk River topped Brainerd to stay alive 6-0, but had to wait for the final game of the day, Roseau v Fergus Falls to see if they were to play on Sunday. If Fergus Falls wins, Elk River goes home, Roseau wins and Elk River is in. Fergus Falls and Roseau played a pretty good game with both teams leading. Fergus Falls took a 4-3 lead into the third period but couldn't hang on losing 6-4 to a team they beat twice this year.
Elk River will play Blaine in one state qualifying match tomarrow and Roseau will match up with either East Grand Forks or Moorhead...I don't know who got the tiebreaker other than Andover should be out of it (all three are 1-2). I heard talk and I think EGF is the team.

Don't mean to be technical, but Fergus Falls would have had to beat Roseau by more then 5 goals in order for them to have the tie breaker on Roseau and Elk River. I don't think there was much of a chance that was going to happen.

"Technically" then, I suppose the powers that be at Minnesota Hockey and the tournement got it wrong......no they didn't. Refer to tournement rules on the Minnesota Hockey website. In a tie situation in pool play, the first tiebreaker is the score between the tied teams. Meaning only the games between the tied teams. Elk River was at 2-1, if Fergus beat Roseau, both Roseau and Fergus would be at 2-1, Brainerd ended the tournement at 0-3. Only the games between Roseau, Fergus Falls, and Elk River would be counted in the tie breaker. Elk River beat Fergus Falls 4-3 and lost to Roseau 5-3...aggregrate of 7-8. Fergus Falls lost to Elk River 3-4...so All Fergus Falls had to do was beat Roseau by a goal and their goal differential would've been even compared to Elk River's -1. They would've had to beat Roseau by 4 in order for them to have the tie breaker on Roseau. All teams knew this and that is why everyone stayed to watch. The fact that Elk River beat Brainerd 6-0 meant nothing accept that they were at 2-1 in the pool and would be in 2nd place if Fergus loses nothing else.

So I was off by a goal. an Awefully long response for being off by a goal. Sorry your team did not make it.
