If Denfeld beats Hermantown, I'd put Virginia fourth.

Good call I would agree with that. Virginia has a good squad. Shaping up to be a great A tourny this year, finally

You are a gentelmen for saying that warrior41 and correct Hermantown should be ahead of the Warriors. Sets the perfect table for an all north final!!

A lot has to do with 4A/5A/6A tonight.
No upsets:
1. St Thomas
2. Breck
3. Hermantown
4. Warroad
4A upset:
1. Breck
2. Mahtomedi
3. Hermantown
4. Warroad
5A upset:
1. St Thomas
2. Breck
3. Warroad
4. Alexandria
My two cents. I'm hoping for the 3rd scenario, but one of the first two are more probable.

This is the way I would vote for it. I do think that Warroad could beat Hermantown or Mahtomedi but they don't have the quality wins to be seeded above them. Breck is ahead of STA right now entering the tournament and they are defending champs.

3. Warroad
4. Virginia

I won't get on a soap box, toot my horn, or mention the head to head win, but if St Thomas wins tonight, what has Breck done this season to earn them the top seed?

I would agree with this statement. Hermantown's strength of schedule is much higher than that of Warroad. Both very good teams but the Hawks should be 3. 1 and 2 are pretty interchangeable and Im willing to bet they'll both meet in the championship.

The Class A tourney is shaping up to be great!! I am actually more excited about the A tourney than the AA tournament. I also think the A tournament has deeper pool of talent this year as well.
That being said the top four seeds barring any major upsets tonight can beat anybody in the state A or AA. The question is who will get the draw for 3A? It won't be much of game and i think this will be the only non competitive game you will have in the first round.
Breck has a great record and great team but their schedule is the weakest. Hermantown, STA, and Warroard have comparable schedules. I honestly would put Breck as the 4 seed. Seriously who have they played? Played Lourdes, STA, Grace and Shattuck. Pretty brutal schedule..

They scrimmaged; Moorehead twice (won both-spuds were seeded #1 to go to AA tourney), Duluth East (won-going to AA tourney), Benilde (tie), Schwans cup; Stillwater (won 4-2, Minnetonka vs Stillwater won 5-1), Lakeville South (won-6-0 spanking of another team probably going to AA tourney)

The head to head loss was their first game of the season and no team ever looks their best when they take the ice for the first time while I believe STA already had three games under their belt. I give them credit for taking on a serious opponent and not taking the tune up game strategy so to speak. Also, it's not what they have done to earn the #1 seed, it has more to do that STA laid a goose egg against Mahtomedi just a few weeks ago. It was really a toss up to me, but I would give the edge to Breck.

I agree with Breck being #1, despite their "soft" schedule they are indeed the defending champs. After that I think it could really go any way depending on who actually makes it. Just for grins here is a comparison of Warroad and Hermantown based on common opponents
Both have beat Denfield, St Cloud Cathedral, Bemidji, EGF/TRF (Warroad lost one to each), Hibbing. Warroad however lost by a goal to Grand Rapids, where Hermantown beat them by a goal.
Judging by this logic alone I would have to put Hermantown ahead by a slim margin.
There are no common opponents between the Warriors and Zephyrs, and compared to STA, Warroad and STA both beat Duluth Marshal by 6-2 and 5-1 scores. With this logic alone I would have to rate the top 4 as follows:
If STA wins:
1. Breck
2. STA (with their schedule I would put them a slight edge over the Hawks)
3. Hermantown
4. Warroad
If Mahtomedi wins:
1. Breck
2. Hermantown (i just like them better head to head with Mahtomedi for some reason)
3. Mahtomedi
4. Warroad
If Denfield beats Hermantown:
1. Breck
2. STA/Mahtomedi
3. Warroad
4. Virginia

No, Breck is the best team.
Mahtomedia is third.
